Age of Empires III Demo

Obviusly you people havent read what makes AOE 3 so great. One of its many amazing features (besides 3D) is the fact that like when you shoot at a building lets say for example:The cannon balls hits the roof. Well now that part of the roof actually gets damaged. The next shot hits the the wall, that part gets damaged....etc.Pieces will fall off and so on. Any units in the way when i building falls will die! Thigns are destructable and can give you new strategies!I suggest people go read the new features of this game.

i just tried it... and the BEST i can say is that i didn't like it :-( seems like it became a rpg-rts mix, bad a bad mix... beside, the 3d graphic isn't clear, the old 2d was better i think. plus, units seems slower, and don't give the "fell" of fighting of AoE 1 and 2. personally i really didn't liked this... and what the hell is the homecity? ahhh.... they are trying to cover their lack of new ideas taking elements from other games types, but it just don't work

well, i do like the features of the buildings being hit and such, but uh, those min requirements even close?i started the demo, i'm assuming it picks the default settings, i haven't fiddled around yet, just turned on antialising to low, (turning it on off seems to make no difference) after about 10 minute the game seems to lag really bad, all 3d rts games i've played seemed to do that, my system specs (i realise i will have amd/nvdia fanboys flaming me now) p4, 3.2 prescott core, 512mb radeon 9800 pro, it plays san andreas fine, and flatout fine with 16x af/6x aa, hopefully its because its the demo and it isn't tweaked enough yet, but i know i won't be getting it if the performance is anything like the demo, i suppose it oculd be something wrong with my machine, but in my opinion this should be fast enough to play any game, at least play with the settings that the game selects as defaultsthe graphics don't seem that imprssive to me, realistic? well i admit the water is cool, but everything else ...

I agree with Rel. You guys are stupid. The demo was awesome and going to 3d didnt screw anything up, its still as restricted as it is in 2d. It plays perfectly fine max detail on my 128bit 9800pro so hah your stupid.

Age of Empires III Demo

I like it. 3d is good. It looks great... only thing is I liked the tim setting in age 2 better. I like my archers knights better thatn musketeers and such. One reason I highly favored it over some other games like RON or empire earth
