This demo for XIII lets you play two levels: The Beach and the Military base.

Overview:

The President of the United States of America has been assassinated.

You wake up on a desolate strip of New England beach. The near-fatal impact of a bullet has left your head pounding, and your memory erased. What's more, the number "XIII" has been mysteriously tattooed on your chest, while your pocket holds a key to a New York City bank box. Head swimming in amnesia, you struggle to your feet only to encounter more assailants intent on finishing the job. To your shock, you handle the hitmen with the killing skills of a professional - before heading to the bank in search of any shred of information about your lost identity and your involvement in the President's murder.

What lies ahead is a deadly quest not only into your shadowy past, but America's darkest corridors of power

XIII Demo

I have downloaded the demo a couple of days ago and its not very fun, there are 2 levels in totaly diffrent places, I think both of them are too hard personaly and im not a bad gamer. The graphics are medium, you dont have any controle over them in the demo except the resolution (i think). The game does sligltly look like comic like when playing but its still a little retarded and the AI isnt that smart, if they see you they will run strait for you, they often get stuck in doors aswell (2nd level, 1st room) and you can get stuck in rooms if there is only one way out.You can do some fun things like pick up chairs and bottles and throw them, but I dont know how this could be usfull against a enemy ai that happen to have full amour and a gun (m4a1 type thing), considering they are hard enough to take down with weapons. The contres have to be changed before you play, "c = crouch = bad" the physics in this game are standerd half-life like, nothing special (that i can see) and the shadows look slightly dodgy, not the ones under the people but the ones on the people, like the players hand and gun.I was hoping for somthing better personaly but who knows, maby the demo is just not the best IMO.

What a f**king stupid looking game this is. It might not look quite a pathetic as that japanese amination **** but it is still little more than a waste of my time.

what is cat talking about, trust me folks this is great game, even the demo lets you do a lot of cool stuff. The graphics are very good, maybe you havn't noticed that this is a cell-shaded-shooter. The details aren't supposed to quite as flushed out as in other games like doom 3 or other big namers. Remember this is supposed to be in a comic book style, and I think they recreated it perfectly.Based on the demo alone, I would get this game, however, I always have to look at a dozen or so reviews. (and oh yea, you can change the default controls just like any other game. C was crouch in many many good games, dark forces to just to name one, and that happened to be a really good game).

XIII Demo

oh yeah, I forgot to add stuff. The ai is supposed to be hard, because like any human, if they see you they will shoot. Solution, don't get seen. You can sneak in this game by crouching. I have taken out many enemies with chairs and bottles and it is quite satisfying. (note: the grappling hook is just plain cool) I also disagree with the reference to halflife. Have you played it recently? The graphics for today's standards are horrible (no offense tried and true HL lovers). You can't compare this game anyways to halflife because cell shading, and even so it looks way more detailed and a lot better in this comic book form. Obviously you aren't a very skilled gamer to be having so many issues with "overly hard AI." Don't worry though, I'm sure there will be a difficultiness for the mentally challenged.
