Experience incredible multiplayer gameplay, as the Multiplayer Beta Test code for IGI2: Covert Strike goes public at 2pm (GMT) Friday 10th January 2003.

Story driven single-player game. Gameplay in the multiplayer demo reflects the stealth and tactical approach of the single-player game. Reconnaissance elements provide for a new style of First Person Shooter multiplayer gaming, blending stealth and surveillance with action and gunplay.

Delivering dynamic multi-objective team-based combat, gameplay pits IGI (Institute for Geotactical Intelligence) operatives against the Conspiracy terrorist group. This public Multiplayer Beta Test calls for stealth and weapon skills to sabotage an old mineral plant that terrorists are using as a cover to extract uranium for covert weapons manufacturing.

I haven't downloaded it yet, because i don't want to wait in the line for half a day on fileplanet.Anyway i think that this game looks ugly! It's the same models, weapons and effects as in the first game (which I didn't like at all). But this is even worse than the first game, because when the first game came out, there wasn't a lot of great games, but now there's much better games than this such as UT2003 or Combat flight sim 3.

It looks like it's gonna be a very good game - so far....A true Stealth FPS - it's good when you have to think abit instead of just running in all guns blazing.Graphics seem OK to me - no, they may not be the best but I've seen other new games which have worse.Remember that to have the best graphics is great, but the game should be able to be played on lower spec'ed machines as well - and also, I find lately that the gameplay is being overtaken by graphics.This FPS seems to have a good mix of both.Just my opinion :-)

I downloaded this, and its good as a taster.The texture quality is not that great, obviously to keep the download to the minimum.The actual landscape is very impressive, like the first, you can see and walk way off into the mountains.I suspect this game will look amazing when finished, especially if you have a new card like the FX, or ATI rival.The only problem I could see with this is it being over run by snipers, given the huge lanscapes.

Ive have played this game several times only now, and for a while it does seem very confusing.Snipers are annoying but not too dominate as it just costs too much for the gun.Also chat gets swamped by kills which is basically chat in another colour, they need to switch this to a kill system like CS.

Just some notes for people trying this game. This level is won in three stages.1. The small house, look for the smoke on the hill. Defend / Plant a virus in the two computers in the house. It controls the doors to the second building.2. Second building, medium sized, fencing around it, over the bridge. Contains two documents you must defend or steal 1 of them.3. Blow up / defend the large mining factory, use the rock conveyer belt to travel quickly, you will have to crawl on one of them to get outside the factory up to the mountains.Also be aware than tanks near peoples spawn points will gun you down, so avoid !
