Valve Is Considering Designing And Selling Hardware

Speaking to Penny Arcade, Gabe Newell, the co-founder and managing director of Valve suggested that the famous game development studio might venture into hardware design and manufacturing.

Newell revealed that Valve has done "a ton of work" and experimentation on biofeedback and biometrics until they it became satisfied that they are usable and entertaining. The company then started to think about the "the best way we can get these into people's hands."

And the solution was simple: "If we have to sell hardware we will," Newell decided.

"We have no reason to believe we're any good at it," he admitted before adding that "it's more we think that we need to continue to have innovation and if the only way to get these kind of projects started is by us going and developing and selling the hardware directly then that's what we'll do. It's definitely not the first thought that crosses our mind; we'd rather hardware people that are good at manufacturing and distributing hardware do that. We think it's important enough that if that's what we end up having to do then that's what we end up having to do."

Valve .. slim today fat Tomorrow

Valve to announce several Robotic Devices that will allow one to eat their meals without the use of their hands. Tired of constantly having to pick up your fork? Tired of using a spoon endlessly dipping it in the soup and than into your mouth? Valve has the solution for this tedious task. For years Gabe Newel has struggled with this very thought. How to eat your food without having to actually make the tedious effort of feeding yourself. Gabe has the very solution... to be announced in the near future.

They they they might sell biometrics and biofeedback hardware and people start talking about pcs. No guys, biometrics hardware are things like fingerprint scanners, retinal scanners and such. You can buy those pretty cheap and plug them in one of your usb ports. The whole interview is posted in the penny arcade website so read it before making dumb comments like every post below this one.

Half Life

It seems like Half Life was their only good original idea, and they are afraid of making a new game on their own. I hope they still are working in HL3, I need to know how the story ENDS!!!
I miss you Gordon... sniff sniff

Dude, Valve did not come up with that, it was originally a student project that Valve bought. After Half Life 2 Ep 2 they only publish. They did not create anything since then. That sir, makes me very sad... :(
