Capcom Promises Not To Disable SaveGame Reset Again Capcom Promises Not To Disable SaveGame Reset Again

Following the uproar against its decision not to allow Resident Evil: The Merceneries 3D savegames to be resettable, Capcom denied any malicious intent behind the decision and promised not to do it again in any other title. "I think it's fair to say there was never quite the malicious intent that the conspiracy theorists out there would have you believe," Capcom VP Christian Svensson said. "I think it's also fair to say that in light of the controversy it's generated, I don't think you're going to see something like this happening again." With no reasonable justification given for the decision, gamers suspected that the decision was made to minimize second hand sales of the game. Even though they have apologized, it is worth noting that Capcom still didn't justify that decision. The decision has already affected the game's ability to be sold second hand as several retailers announced this week that they won't accept trade-ins for it.
