X-Box Memory Deal Announced X-Box Memory Deal Announced

Bloomberg reported that Micron has signed a six year agreement with Microsoft to provide the DDR SDRAM for the XBox gaming console.
When the console is released in 2001, it will offer 64MB of memory and will be in direct competition with Sony's PlayStation 2, which offers Rambus memory, and Nintendo's Game Cube which is still being developed.
Micron's memory will be somewhat faster than that used by current PCs.
