In a move which defies Microsoft's insistence to keep Halo 2's plot and details a secret, copies of the game have already been sold, for as much as USD 265.

Although Tuesday November 9 is the official launch date for the highly anticipated sequel, copies have found their way to the Internet auction site Ebay. The most profitable sale was one completed on Thursday which saw an in-hand copy of the USD 55 special edition Halo 2, including special packaging and a bonus DVD, reach a staggering USD 265 final sale figure.

Microsoft has, of course, not commented on the actual case in question but has stressed that it is working hard to ensure that all gamers get the same enjoyment from Halo 2 once it is released, something impossible if the PC version isn't released at the same time we say but that is unlikely. In any case the leaks which led to the appearance of the Halo 2 Ebay copies, must have been very limited since only a handful made it to the auction website.

The appearance of the French version of the game last month on filesharing sites was the biggest blow to Microsoft's efforts to keep the storyline a secret but it is unlikely to affect sales, especially when considering that 1.5 million pre-orders have already been received by the Halo 2 publisher.
We will not stoop to discussing comments claiming that the fact that a French copy was leaked meant that the game received maximum publicity for minimal sales damage but we will say that a game that features multiplayer action as one of its major weapons is unlikely to be affected by such leaks anyway.

A Meijer Inc. spokesman denied recent reports claiming that copies had been sold at a few stores owned by Midwest retail chain. John Zimmerman said, There is absolutely no truth to that at all.

So Ebay and filesharing sites aside, the world is holding its breath as we can now clearly hear the roar of Master Chief's Warthog.

PC gaming is getting too expensive IMO cause your computer will be outdated in a year and your videocard will be outdated in 6 months. I tried to hang onto PC gaming but I'm really getting fed up that I gotta spend a lot money just to play 1 game. Even tho console gaming doesn't have the graphics of PC gaming, in console gaming you get a lot more variety of genres and a lot more games and you don't gotta worry about requirements and errors and what not. PC gaming has been going downhill IMO and its going to keep going down cause a lot of PC gamers are getting fed up with the lack of quality and the lack of games that interest them. Not many PC games that came out this year hold my interest or what I look for. Blitzkrieg:Burning Horizon and Blitzkrieg:Rolling Thunder are the only games that hold my interest for this year. There's nothing wrong with PC gaming if you have the money to keep up with it and most of the games that interest you. Dam, I had a lot more to say but bah, I can't remember. When I do, I'll post again.

Well go HALO 2 anyway :D-Even tho console gaming doesn't have the graphics of PC gaming-Yes true for now but when XBOX 2 and PS3 come out games for those consoles will be of HL 2 DOOM3 graphics. I dont know if you have actually played Halo 2 but it is crap. I really enjoyed the first one and have no problems with Xboxs and Playstations as others on this site seem to do. Bungie removed almost every good aspect to the game and though there are some neat new features such as homing rockets and banshees in multiplayer there are no good single or multiplayer stages and the big secret is shit. But then you will all have to wait till tomorow to see what I mean.

lmfao, when xbox2 and ps3 come out, PCs will be even better. consoles will never catch up because the parts have to be cheap enough for microsoft, sony, nintendo, etc. to make a profit. and the versions of hl2 and doom3 coming to xbox will look a lot worse than the PC versions. bottom line is, if you really want good graphics, waiting around for the next generation of consoles isnt gonna do you any good.

consoles will never be better than pc's performance wise or graphics wise, even if the next console's came out offering better visuals and frame rates it would only take a few days maybe a week for pc's to better it. Remembering that processor's are nearing the 4ghz mark, and the current graphics boards (6800 and x800 series) are alot more powerful than any of the consoles graphics chips.. from what i've read the next console's processor's are around the 2.6 to 3ghz mark... and the graphics boards aren't costing console maker's $400+ so for all console fanboys i say keep holding on to your dreams coz that's how they are gonna stay!

i have an xbox and ps2. I have been in gaming bliss playing both GTA; San Andreas and Halo2 lately. I am a massive Halo fan and thought that it would be better then GTA: SA. But, After playing both for ages (I've been playing Halo 2 nonestop) I've come to a decision. GTA: SA is better then Halo 2 . Halo 2 has better graphics, but San Andreas somehow, even with its grpahical issues (i think it looks great anyhow)is in a different legue. Another thing, the story of Halo 2 is shit box, compared to that of San Andreas, i was majorly dissapointed. Amazingly, i am now more of a GTA fan then a HAlo fan now. GTA :SA has to be one hell of a game to make that happen!

First you need a DVD burner, and a modded console, and good enough connection to download 6 gig games (or you can skip this, and just borrow the game from a friend or rent it from Hollywood video) then you have to clone the CD and do a bunch of wierd shit with your PS2 or X-Box that I have no idea what it is because I don't pirate console games.For PC? All I have to do is download the 600 megabyte CD (or borrow it from a friend, and copy the files to the Hard Drive), burn the files to the CD, install the game and get the crack and BAM i'm in.

Thing is if Halo2 was on a PC bots would not be a problem. There would also be a 'online' version of the co-op mode made by fans. Just look at all the custom content available for the PC version of halo. Its great. Half those issues from the gamespot review would get a normal PC game slammed against the wall. I don't think its fair to compare one game to another cross-platform since the judging is based on different hardware. Xbox reviewers have to be linent since a console is always aging it may not be the best out there but its the best for the console. PC users spend vast amounts of money on hardware as such we demand much more. Feign responsibility to the developer when we have not upgraded our computers and worse. To ensure maxium compatibility takes hard work PC games are much harder to make and as such its often a more worth while investment. Especially if your into fps gaming.

Google it.Xeon is the best so far with Xbox emulator but has alot of bugs. I get crashes all the time. Another is Cxbx.PCSX2 is good 1 i use personally, but has alot of graphical error. I didn't say GTA SA was perfect on my PC with AA4x on. Had lots of artifacts. I personally play GTA SA with AA and AF off to minimize graphical errors. I just said it to show off. It looked nice but annoying especially with drive bys.With AA and AF, you need technical know how. Some emulators doesn't support AA and AF on their emus so you do it on the control panel. With ATI or NVidia, you can turn them on manually.I have an xbox controller with the USB adapter which Xeon supports and sees it as a USB gamepad and ready to kick some Convenant ASS!HOOAH! For PC!

Even tho PC's are more powerful then consoles, the next gen consoles are going sink PC gaming like dumping a 50 pound rock in the lake. PC's may be at 5ghz and next gen consoles be at 3ghz or more but the consoles will act like its 5ghz due to the fact its a dedicated gaming machine and I gaurantee that next gen consoles will be on par with PC's in graphics for a year if not more. Heck, I still see PS2 games looking better then most PC games today except for titles like D3 and FC and what not but you know what I mean.As for FPS being on consoles, wait till next gen consoles, there will be a lot more FPS games and the mouse and keyboard for next gen consoles will take off since the power of the next gen consoles will most likely have 10x better graphics then Doom 3 and HL2 cause the power is there to finally handle FPS games properly on next gen consoles.On another note, yes, piracy has helped kill PC gaming but at the same time, the lack of quality titles is killing PC gaming and its much worse because most people are not going to spend $1.5 G's just to play 1 or 2 games e.i. HL2 and D3.PC gaming is dying slowly due to piracy, not enough quality titles, expensive hardware to play 1 game, crashing and errors etc, the list goes on.You can say what you want. I work in my local GameStop store as a Game Advisor and worked the midnight madness tonight. We had over 400 reserves, and nearly half of them showed up for the midnight opening. And we're a small store.But my main issue is the Meijer inc response. It is an out right lie.. We had custoemrs coming in 3 days ago with thier copies of halo 2 IN HAND asking if we had the Strategy Guide. They all purchased from Meijer. We (Gamestop) hadn't even received shipments of the game until the day after. I'm not going to reveal the city, but the state was Indiana, and YES Meijer broke the release date and are already in court with Microsoft and losing a case that will set them back several hundred thousand dollars.Also I have received personal reports of copyright cases being prosecuted in England and germany for the downlaoded halo 2, apparantly there is something in the warez version that sends a signal via Live to MS or something, because corp laywers are showing up with subpeonas at kids doorsteps with huge fines following. I have NOT been able to confirm how much of this is true, but the indication seems that it is genuine.So be warned folks... warez Halo 2 at your own risk.Side note... I got to play tonight.... it rocks. And much bigger than Halo ever was. The game is to die for.
