An anonymous hacker has reportedly defaced at least 50, and possibly as many as 110, Web sites with pro-Napster, anti-record industry graffiti and messages.

A radio report today said the unknown intruder attacked sites ranging from NASA to the Communications Workers of America following the court ruling earlier this week that could force MP3.com to pay millions of dollars in damages to Universal Music Group.

The hacker reportedly used the handle "Pimpshiz," while posting messages which attacked the recording industry for its lawsuit against Napster. "The (Recording Industry Association of America) does not represent your favorite music artists," Pimpshiz reportedly pasted on the Palminfocenter.com site. "They represent rich record executives. These are the fat cats who make profit from the other 95 percent of CD sales. All because you either wanted more money (not like you had enough to begin with, right!?) or because you wanted publicity." News reports said Pimpshiz claimed to have defaced a total of 110 sites in four attacks and used a little-known hole in the Windows NT platform. He threatened a bigger round of attacks to come.

We must unite against music recording industry's if we all boycott them and merely don't buy there cd's they can not stop us. There are thousands of sites like [url removed] or [url removed] that do the same thing. They can never ,untill the last human dies, kill napster. Remember two things. Do Not Buy CD's for a four hundred pound, cigar smoking, man who gets sex from only whores will be getting more money. The second thing to remember is Napster will never ever die unless we lose hope.

Napster was one of the first of its kind and has started a trend in that sort of downloading software. Even if somehow napster does get shut down it wont hurt anything, this whole deal with Metallica and Napster has just made Mp3s more popular then ever. I dont see how downloading Mp3s is any different from downloading anything any thing elese. Napster will never die out. *RD*

I have used other programs but I have found Napster to be "More reliable" in most cases. I think of downloading MP3's as a try before you buy, but with all this controversy I believe people will use this as an anti-RIAA act. It's really another case of the rich "Want and often" get richer. Napster will fight till the end, I just hope there are more that stand to fight!

Napster and SX are both great programs. all i'd like to point out, is that they're making our life easier. Go ahead! Kill Napster! I was finding MP3s just fine without it. But I love Napster for the way that it makes everything so easy. that's the part those shitheads who're suing don't understand: killing napster won't even hinder mp3 downloads. i'm not saying i hate napster or that i don't support it, but why don't those bastards just sue the person who invented the internet? huh?
