AMD Accuses Ex-employees Of Leaking Its Secrets To Nvidia

AMD is accusing its former employee, Robert Feldstein, of leaking its trade secrets to Nvidia.

Before joining Nvidia in July 2012, Feldstein helped in securing deals between his former employer, AMD, and console makers to produce Xbox 360, Wii U and next gen Sony and Microsoft hardware.

In addition to Feldstein, AMD is also accusing Manoo Desai and Nicolas Kociuk of conspiring “with each other to misappropriate AMD's confidential, proprietary, and/or trade secret information; and/or to intentionally access AMD's protected computers, without authorisation and/or in a way that exceeded their authorised access."

Additionally, AMD is accusing the trio of trying to lure other AMD employees to Nvidia.

The case is still in court and neither Nvidia nor the accused employees have responded yet. We’ll keep you posted.

Trade secrets are trade secrets. No matter how long ago you worked at a company. This is dirty and underhanded. It sounds like we have nvidia fanboys here hollering and laughing at AMD. I would be pissed if someone leaked my trade secrets which are the property of said company. Speculating this is for attention and bad market share, that's pathetic. Yes, a piece of paper can tell a man not to go work for rival company for so many years. You sign onboard to work with a company, you could be a spy so its perfectly legal to have them agree to not run off with trade secrets. derp derp.

NDA

They would've needed to sign a permanent NDA with AMD sometime before leaving otherwise AMD has nothing. I would imagine that they would've though. I worked for an automotive lighting manufacturer & I had to. If someone thinks something a about manufacturing a dumb headlight is so special, I'd be pretty surprised if AMD didn't require such an agreement. I'm not surprised that Nvidia is involved with such a thing. They always struck me as turds, just like Intel.

AMD are just making excuses because their market share is dying. Maybe if they were more focused on making their previous gen GPU'S work the way they should (and yes this includes OGL for Linux) they wouldn't have such a negative customer base. Price/performance ratio ain't everything.

A piece of paper can't tell a man where he can, or can't work, or who he can talk to. This is all jibber jabber anyway, they're not the military, it's for computers mostly for video game needs, there are no "secrets". They'll get over it, In large this is all nothing, just some publicity to get AMD name out for people to read, and it works.. It's here isn't it?
