PlayStation 4 To Be Revealed This Month

Looks like PlayStation 4 (Orbis) will be revealed officially in less than 3 weeks after all.

Last Thursday, Sony’s PlayStation official Twitter account tweeted a link to an event with the tag line “See the future.”

The event’s page itself is shy on details. It features nothing beyond a 44 seconds video of animated PlayStation symbols and the date: February 20, 2013 – 6:00 pm EST.

Just one week ago, Sony president Kaz Hirai said that it makes little sense for the company to reveal its console before Microsoft does."Why go first, when your competitors can look at your specifications and come up with something better?" he argued back then.

We’ve also heard reports that Sony is already demonstrating Orbis/PS4 to developers in private meetings.

They think pushing ahead of Microsoft to reveal their hunk a junk will give them a heads up in the market, truth be told push it all they want, the hardware is crap compared to Xbox. And it's not going to help publishers in their decisions to create games specificaly for PS4 anyways, they'll still mostly stick with Microsoft because it's a sure thing and Playstation Network is inferior, dying, and always being hacked by Xbox pro's.

i dont get it why are pc owners so against these machines ...???? im so stocked about them both and have money waiting to buy them both even though i have a great pc with a 680gtx and a i5 clocked to oblivion with ssd .. i know its not the fastest pc on the planet but i know it runs everythin at max - lots of AA

Sony, Meh

I never liked Sony's antic's in the console world; they're advertising usually was most of the time crazy, and company mistakes were outright scarier than all of 360's plights at times. So honestly to say I wish Sony does fail. I will say Playstation 2 was perhaps one of the best consoles ever made in stone, but both 360 and Ps3... jeeze what a generation of fail this has been. The only thing I know is that at least Microsoft learned their lesson, but with Sony Exec's... I don't have the words to comprise how ignorant and moronic a group of people could be.

Yeah, I know SONY isn't stupid enough to pull a Sega DreamCast stunt. As many may remember, the DreamCast was released before anyone even knew anything about it. People just went shopping one day and all of a sudden..........there was this new console on the market called the DreamCast. Megagames, why would SONY release a console without first releasing the specs to the public? Why would they release it without advertising first? I agree with everyone else on this posting, MegaGames is either high on something, or they are getting their facts screwed up in a big, big way. making "bold" statements such as these do not bode well for the confidence of your readers. It's a reveal, not a release. get it right. besides, i hear from GameStop, BestBuy, and other stores that the PS4 probably will not release until around Thanksgiving 2014.

I have lost all respect for megagames. Released this month? The video could be any Sony reveal... And IF it's playstation 4 related it will be a reveal not a release like another user said. Why megagames buys into rumors now and doesn't report on facts is disturbing. Thanks for the many years megagames but you are nothing short of a gossip magazine now.

FOR ALL THOSE PEOPLE JUMPING ON OTHERS FOR SAYING SONY WAS GOING TO RELEASE THEIR MACHINE, PERHAPS YOU SHOULD READ THE TOP OF THE ARTICLE WHERE IT SAYS UPDATE. THIS MORNING MEGAGAMES ORIGINALLY POSTED THAT SONY WAS TO RELEASE THEIR CONSOLE THIS MONTH. THEN, THEY CHANGED IT TO REVEAL AFTER PEOPLE STARTED TO CATCH ON.
