Crytek CEO: Crysis 3 Graphics Is On Par With Next Gen Launch Titles

Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli is so confident in the graphics quality of Crysis 3 on current gen consoles; he believes that next gen consoles’ launch titles won’t surpass it.

"I don't think Crytek can do more on current generation consoles than Crysis 3," he said. "I actually think people will be astonished that next gen launch titles from other companies might not be much different from Crysis 3."

But that doesn’t mean that next gen consoles are not capable of surpassing their predecessors. In fact, Yerli believes that "Crytek's projects generally will be way above what we've achieved on the existing consoles."

The Crytek CEO is not cocky about the game’s graphics only.

"Crysis 3 has its own visual identity, [urban rainforest] is a world that hasn't been done before. That kind of depiction, the quality and level of immersion, I think no game has ever done that kind of setting, it's a visual spectacle."

"It has not even been done in Hollywood. People might suggest there are similarities with I Am Legend, but that is quite different to this. I Am Legend is overgrown, but Crysis 3's urban rainforest is a whole different level of that. It has its own identity and I'm very proud of what the team achieved in this regard."

got to hand it to them

It's a beautiful game. I'm also very happy that they havent sold out (vs someone like rockstar) and continue to push the envelope of PC graphics and gaming. I also think that due to the next gen consoles being essentially PC architecture based, there is really no reason why their engine wouldnt dominate on them as well. Personally I'd love to play an RPG with such engine/graphics- the effect that OBLIVION had when it first hit the shelf. PS. Screenshot nr5 is most likely concept

They made a good graphic

They made a good graphic engine again it's obvious.. but the Artstyle look like a B-movie without any creativity. I hope for their audience that it's not another linear "corridor game" that doesn't give much real freedom.
