Ubisoft Wants To Improve Relationship With PC Gamers

Famous for using obnoxious DRM solutions and for releasing shoddy console ports on PC, Ubisoft has never been a fan favorite among hardcore PC gamers. But the company has finally had a change of heart and wishes to befriend them.

"Announcing all these partners for Uplay and a wider choice of PC games, it shows our commitment to PC, and we want to improve our relationship with the PC community," said Uplay director Stephanie Perotti. "We are always seeking to improve. We took a lot of that feedback on board. With every game on PC we are improving. Far Cry 3 and Assassin’s Creed III on PC were very high quality."

"At Uplay we are also offering all Ubisoft titles, more console content and elements that gamers are more interested in. It’s about offering more options and more choice."

At first glance it seems that Ubisoft has finally realized that PC gamers are not just a bunch of cheapos and pirates. But it is hard to shake the idea that the company offered its friendship to PC gamers only after it opened up its online store, Uplay, to third party publishers and developers.

If you want a reason not to trust Ubisoft, one word: Starforce.
And if you want a more recent reason: From Dust PC port.

You don't suppose Ubisoft had

You don't suppose Ubisoft had an epiphany about their rather unenviably bad relationship with PC gamers from reading the countless unfavourable comments made by people in the comments sections of the news articles about their games, do you? Lol.

the truth is after the

the truth is after the success of far cry 3 they realized there is lots of money to be made and seeing has both ps4 and next box will both be pc arcitecture KEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRCHING!!!!!!!!!!!! lots of money to be made

And the truth.

And the truth. With AMDs chips going in Wii U (known fact), PS4 (official) and xBox720 (almost certain), porting games from consoles to PCs and vice versa is now easier than ever. It ain't love, then. It's a good opportunity for profit. But the marketing division has to keep itself busy somehow, right?

Agreed

I'm not sure why Most major game makers still put DRM, it gets cracked on day 1 or even before release, It's pointless and hurts the honest customers. The latest in DRM is the requirement to install Steam, Uplay, Origin. All the games requiring this will either not be bought by me or will be using a crack with my original copy to avoid installing them.

really

Such ignorance. DRM exists for a singular purpose, to stop second hand game sales, not to fight piracy and it does just that. Some people just can't see the obvious even if you hit them in the face with it, they just believe what they're told.
