Thief 4 To Be Announced Next Month – Here Are Its 1st Screenshots

After five years in development, Eidos Montreal finally feels confident enough to unveil the fourth game in the famous first person stealth franchise: Thief.

The official unveiling of the game will take place next month, but we’ve already put our hands on some screenshots (available in the gallery).

“We’re handling a precious gemstone with Thief,” said Eidos Montréal GM Stephane D’Astous. “Fans remember the original games very fondly and we want to preserve that essence – which we have excellent experience of doing at Eidos-Montréal – whilst also introducing Thief to a brand new, next-generation, audience.”

“Our goal is to deliver the fantasy of being Garrett, the master thief, and we’re building this game around that core experience.”

Thief 4 will be released on Windows PC and PlayStation 4 as well as on Microsoft’s next gen Xbox 360 successor.

Don't see how, Thief has

Don't see how, Thief has always carried minimalistic elements as per the nature of being a Thief. The only way they could fuck it up is if they turned it into a micro managed puzzler. The likelihood of that is slim.

Cant wait

Can't wait. Wondering why this franchise was on down low for this long. I've played (much like all gamer's out there) pretty much all FPS out there and Thief series (except 3rd) is remembered well.
