Leak: Google Is Working On Its Own Android-Based Console

Source close to Google have tipped The Wall Street Journal that the internet search giant is working behind closed doors on Android based game console and wristwatch.

According to WSJ and its sources, this move is an effort to combat similar devices Apple is expected to reveal in the next few months.

Google is also working on a second version of its Android-based media streaming device, Nexus Q which was revealed last year but still not sold to the public.

i think that this is not

i think that this is not going to end up good for google.. The thing that everybody seems to miss is that we dont need more consoles...we need games! If i cant find a decent game on google play i dont see a reason for buying a new android based console. They are all trying to sell shitty consoles for playing useless games ...Besides, the fact is that most of the people that play ruzzle or fruit ninja are not willing to buy anything but a smartphone, at least this is my opinion.

They get the fact that we

They get the fact that we need games. What you don't get is that good games can't be made until there is a proper platform to develop for. That's what this android console stuff is all about, who will come out on top and make a good enough (and cheap) console

i dont know, did u play any

i dont know, did u play any android game recently? are you sure that people playing on android are willing to pay 50-60 dollars for an AAA title? Do they need new consoles? Dont they have enough with the games on their smartphones? This is what im talking about, and im ready to discuss about it

No one said anything about

No one said anything about paying 50/60 bucks for a game or making AAA titles, that's just you assuming things because you think consoles have to be that way. Do people need new consoles? Sure, next-gen is just around the corner so almost everyone wants a new console. Do they have enough with games on their smartphones? I'd say they have enough smartphone games, what you can do in terms of gameplay is directly related/restricted by the controller and screen size so a console is much more capable and allows for more genres and better gameplay than smartphones and tablets. What about $20 games? Decent graphics, no touchscreen crap, a console whose price point is well below next gen. It may not be enough for hardcore gamers but if there is one thing nintendo taught the world with the Wii is that there is a huge audience of casual gamers out there just waiting to fork out cash for devices and software that meets their needs. Let's not forget that an android console would be much more versatile than a hardcore console, even with the media center bs next gen is offering, that appeals to adults who work and are also casual gamers.

They already have too much

They already have too much information. Hell I bet if someone goggled my user name after I kill them in a game it'll give out my address with my weight and height what i like and don't like, and the website I visit.

Then you shouldn't use the internet at all, Its a privacy destroying machine. Also you shouldn't use smartphones since a modded android phone is the only way to get privacy on those. Captcha: too late

Herp, derp

That's why I use Tor and don't have a smartphone. Hey, that's why I said I enjoy "what little" privacy I can get. Not "all" the privacy I can get...

My motto: Treat others as you would like to be treated.

In a world where almost

In a world where almost everyone shares their personal life on facebook whilst doing their search on google, they have pretty good reasons to think this will work. I'm commenting on this kind of lame news on a friday night.. god I'm such a loser.
