Call Of Duty: Ghosts Single Player Runs At 720p On PS4 Until Patched

In what's known now as "Resolutiongate," Infinity Ward executive producer Mark Rubin revealed that the Xbox One version of Call of Duty: Ghosts would run at 720p native resolution upscaled to 1080p while the PlayStation 4 version will run at 1080p natively.

As it turns out, those claims are not entirely true. After testing a retail copy of the PS4 version of CoD: Ghosts, Digital Foundry found that multiplayer runs at 1080p native resolution but single player runs at an upscaled 720p.

Activision acknowledged the findings and promised to release a day one patch that would enable single player to run at 1080p natively.

"There was a configuration issue in the retail version on single-player mode only," the company issued a statement. "This has been addressed with a day one software update. People will be able to download the day one update when PlayStation 4 launches in their territory and play at native 1080p."

There are still no indications regarding a similar patch for Xbox One.

Research

According to most hardware reviewers, both the Xone and the Ps4 have very similar processing capabilities: Both have the same AMD Jaguar Core APU, and integrated GCN GPU from AMD as well within the APU. Both consoles have 8gb of ram. So either I am not understanding the console internals correctly, was misinformed, or Sony paid out some mad money to Infinity Ward to get COD to run 1080p natively on the ps4. Given that Infinity Ward is a profit greed company, releasing 1.2 COD games per year without innovation, to bank on clueless teenagers and other retards... I am betting my money it was the ladder of my conclusions. CAPTCHA: Name your price. "sony to IW"

I wonder what reviews you've

I wonder what reviews you've been reading because it's well known that although the hardware is almost identical on both consoles, the PS4 has an almost 50% faster GPU. It's got more stream processors. It's not the same as last generation when both architectures were so different that you couldn't compare them directly.

who gives a shit really you

who gives a shit really you wont be able to notice the difference between 720p and 1080p as long as the game runs fine that's all that matters really. as for cod ghosts the is crap anyway rubbish single player and really bad multiplayer. infinity ward have gone down hill with there games and need to sort it out. plus cod is getting old now we need something new not just the same old crap every year

CoD isn't even that bad

CoD isn't even that bad compared to some other "AAA" titles. Look at GTA for example - it's been the same steal cars, run from cops, go on rampage shit for the last 5 games or so. CoD at least switches setting from WW2 to Vietnam to Modern to futuristic. Or look at Assassin's Creed AC1, AC2, Brotherhood, Revelations were all the same shit - running on rooftops and looking for ways to stab one guy. At least they've started to improvise some more lately. Mass Effect could also be added to the same-shit category. Was no real difference between ME1, ME2 and ME3. "Oh look, now you also shoot some bugs, not just robots! Give us 60$!!" That said, CoD is a fun game, but it's launch price is way too high IMO.

Firstly if you are comparing

Firstly if you are comparing the game play of these games, you must also look at the game play of COD. Which is run, sprint, shoot and stab. That has been the core GAME PLAY of COD since the first. So yes you are right about GTA being "it's been the same steal cars, run from cops, go on rampage shit for the last 5 games or so". But considering you did examples of the COD settings, it's only fair we do the same for the other games too. GTA - Switching locations, changing main characters that have a personalized story behind them and, if you have played them, changing the way you go about missions. Comparing ME to COD is really unfair tho since it is the same story over the whole 3 games. Over those games tho they did manage to improve on the core features of the game while never letting the story go stale.. (bar the ending of ME3...). Now I haven't actually played all the AC series but have you actually looked at the trailers or played the games at all? If you look at the change of SETTING from AC1 to AC black flag, you cannot say it has not changed at all. That said, they are all fun games in their own different elements, however I feel COD is the most repetitive with a very similar story over the series. All games are far too high on launch price.

The difference between the AC

The difference between the AC games is literally the same as the CoD games, GTA has always been an iterative title that tries to do a tiny number of things very, very well and generally succeeds, and Mass Effect is a single story spread across three games so of course they're similar, it wouldn't make sense if they weren't. You can't inflate Call of Duty above any of those games because the only innovation it brings to itself is ripped off from other games after it's become stale in them. It's at least as bad, probably worse.
