In 1997, The Lord of the Rings trilogy was voted Book of the Century. Now the world is about to experience this groundbreaking tale of good and evil brought to life. This long-awaited screen presentation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings trilogy will be shot exclusively in New Zealand over a period of 18 months, with post-production adding yet another year and a half. At three years in the making, this will be the largest
production ever to be mounted in the Southern Hemisphere. Written by Oscar-nominated screenwriters Peter Jackson & Fran Walsh, with Philippa Boyens and Stephen Sinclair,
this technically challenging production will assemble an international cast, utilize over 20,000 days of extras, employ a full crew of over 300 (including award-winning, high-profile technicians from both within and outside of New Zealand), and will feature 1,200 state-of-the-art computer generated effects shots. Peter Jackson's Wellington-based production company, Wingnut Films Limited, together with the special effects company WETA Limited, have been involved in developing and designing this realization of the Tolkien
classic for more than two years. During this time a stunning array of miniatures, creatures, prosthetic effects and armor have been created to bring the grandeur and spectacle of Tolkien's richly evocative Middle-earth to life on the screen.
The movie has a planned release for 14 December 2001 and has been voted the most expected movie.

The most expected movie : Lord of the Rings
I Feel obliged to say that the Lord of the Rings isn't a triligy, its six books and an apendixand There is no way that a movie could ever do a book of that scale justice
The most expected movie : Lord of the Rings
The Lord of the Rings has the potential to become one of the best films of history. The story itself is excellent, Tolkien has just a very unique way with words. Lets just hope that they don't stuff it up like they did on The Hobbit when I saw it on the theatre.

Hmm. Could be good. Lots of special effects. So I have a year and a half to read the books to my boy (currently 9). I hope they don't stuff it up.

The Lord of the Rings is my favorite adventure book of all time...like everyone else said, I just don't think they'll be able to do it justice, and from then on, i'll have a messed up image when i'm reading it. I would have to say that they should make it at least six or more "bravehart" long movies to even get into detail. What's so great about Token's book is that each person can develope the story to there most intese desires and imaginations, but it would be hard to fullfill everyone's imagionations in a movie.Hey Bilbo, I think the reason that the last star wars episode failed, was that it didn't present us with new filming teckneics. The first three were amasing PARTLY because they brought into movies things that were never-before possable just like what the matrix did. If star wars is going to keep up, it will need to produce movie making.

I thought it was funny, the producer of the LOTR movies said "It'll make Star Wars look like a weekend on the crapper." Interesting choice of words.
The most expected movie : Lord of the Rings
This will be the movie to top all movies for all time
The most expected movie : Lord of the Rings
Este certamente será o melhor filme de todos os tempos. Os três livros são sensacionais e não qualquer RPG que possa expressar o que o livro é.
