Bethesda Announces DOOM Beta

The first and last time we heard about an upcoming DOOM title was in 2008 when id Software announced that DOOM 4 was in development. Come now, six years later, the company has finally confirmed that the game is still alive and on track to be released soon.

Id Software's parent company Bethesda Softworks announced that preorders of the physical disc version of Wolfenstein: The New Order will come with a code that can be used to participate in the beta test of the next DOOM game (apparently, titled "DOOM").

Bethesda confirmed that DOOM beta won't start before Wolfenstein's May 20th launch. Wolfenstein: The New Order will be available for PC , Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. There is no info yet regarding which platforms DOOM will support.

Just Doom..

It will be as boring as the last Doom was cause its trying to hard with too less effort. What always broke the game for me was the moving wands somewhere behind you to allow a monster to approach from the back, thats just a stupid lazy game mechanic and i bet it wont change in the new doom either.

F*** I hate when they make a game with the SAME name is the original (say xbox one?). Way to confuse the consumers. Doom was something neat in 1992 but more than 20 years later, how can such a simplistic experience be worth 50$? Well I say the same of CoD and it keeps selling so I guess the name is all that matters.
