America's Army: Operations is a highly-anticipated gaming title. This game was created and designed by the United States Army. This multiplayer game is in a class all its own in terms of its realistic game play and military detail. This Recon version is a virtual gaming experience. This game is built upon Unreal's next generation game engine.

'Recon' is a full version game, including both single and multiplayer scenarios, ranging from the challenges of Basic Training to performing combat missions.

This is a recruitment game, no doubt about it. Smart new way to fill up the ranks so that good ole Unlce Sam could go everywhere and kill whoever he wants.. .er.. I mean, to bring liberty, just and democracy for the people that DIE for it. :DOtherwise, it would be quite a good game.. save that itsa f**king huge pile of bugz. About 100 tries I could lauch it for 2 times at all.

It's free because they want lots of kiddies to play it, and of them, some will be inspired to join the army...but if you don't believe that... then they are training you with this game to control a throng of underground cyborg soldiers to go kill babies. happy?

It would be good to have minimun hardware specifications, so it would be possible to know if we can play it. New games are (in most cases) better than old ones, so you will need a new machine. Not everyone can afford a P4 2Ghz with lots of Rambus and an ultimate video card.

IT´S without any doubt the biggest revulution in video the video game industry for MANY years. if you doubt that you are not very bright.This game, simulator and adverticement is created by proffessionals officially for the US Army, some of these developers come from West Point and have got a lot of time to practice with real weapons and be with the millitary + ofcourse they get full support from the millitary,and a hell lot of money it's not a bad thing it needs expensive PCs to run, it just shows us how detailed product this is.IT´S NOT created to be with perfect gameplay, it is designed to be the way it is in reality.one of the biggest and most likely successfull averticement used in many years...

I do hope this game shows me reality of military training.I want it too because I have been waiting years for a real game that shows how it is in REALITY to engage in firefights. Not UT and CS with fake guns and fake fighting with minimial or NO team play.

ive got a pIII1ghz with a TNT2 m64 ultra graphics card and 512 mb of ram and this game runs shit slow on my computer who does the military think we are we dont have millions of dollares to spend on computers like them i think it was a big let down.

hey i went to russia and got this game its almost like this russian army and it is way better really relistic at 100% and the engine and shit is way out.. compared to this game its like way ahead...and u dont need a f**king top of the line to play it u can lower some shit like buffering and all u need is like a 500 wit 126 ram and at least a 32 16 works...i test game and i give russian army a 10 of 10

I downloaded America's Army and the patch. My video card is ATI. I think 64mb. My system is=Authentic AMD AMD Athlon(tm) Processor 511.0 MB RAM Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition 4.10.2222AMy Video card is Radeon 64.0MB DDRSGRAM/SDRAMI have Norton AntiVirus 2002. Is that why I can't play it.

Well, The guns are fake, not cool. Your team mates kill ya every time.There is no clear definition between enemys and friends.Other then that this game is a great design with plenty of detail. the potential upon the completion of this game appears to be very good. But Till they come out with the rest of the game its going on the shelf for now.Oh by the way I like the new interesting way we get our tax dollars back.

When you think of freeware you think of poorly designed Snes style games. Well smack yourself in the head because this aint one of them. AA offers good play and has realistic combat tactics and whatnot. From the reloading of weapons to the damage of a grenade this game makes you a true soldier. Additional parts of the game will be released in the near future such as the Airborne school and the Ranger Division. Until then the latest is the Markmanship pack. This game has a high standard as a freeware action game and heck its from the Army. Just remember not to shoot you fellow teammates because you get a heavy penalty and get thrown in the stockade, if you're really bad you might even get banned. Kinda harsh but makes sense from tk's. Also be warned if you have an old video card like a tnt 2 like me you wont be able to play some maps. So save up and upgrade to a better card.

Sweet game! The developers paid real attention to the real aspects of shooting. If you want easy shooting and intense gameplay, this is not your game, but if you want realistic gameplay(unlike most games in this genre) then this is the game for you.
