Battlefield 2 Demo

My last card was a 9800 pro and its a pretty good card for the money but the 6600GT is about the same money at the moment and a little more powerfull so i would get that if upgradeing from the fx5200.But then again if you are happy with it then wait a while for the next gen cards to come out and these will make todays higher end cards drop in price.

AMD 64 3400+1 GB RAMHIS ATI Radeon X800 Pro 256MBRuns on full graphics on mine, top res with full antialiasing. No slow down whatsoever. Not a bad game either, fun for a little action

for the person upgrading from an fx5200if i were u i'd try to stick to ATi for now. instead of grabbing a 6600 or anything, i would wait for the r520 release so all the other cards come down in price and grab one of those. whether its an x800 or an x900, whatever fits in ur money range.even if u are going to buy a 6600, PLEASE wait till the new cards are released so they go down in price. whether u get nvidia or ati, it'll save u a bunch of money. Conclusion, WAIT for next gen cards to come, THEN select one depending on performance/price

"to give you a little overview, the new nvidia card is gonna be launched on the 21st of this month (not sure). ati's counterpart will launch roughly a month later"yes this is correct, and it would be very smart to wait even 2 more months for a new card. Could save u a bunch and give u access to higher grade cards. If u buy something now u may be kicking urself in a month for a stupid mistake ;)

This demo looks fab when using high details. Problem is when i go online i get the Blue screen of death after about 3 min game play. Never when i play off line only when online. Anyone else have this issue and can recommend a fix?

Battlefield 2 Demo

This game needs 1 gig ram and at least a 6600gt min otherwise u have to set the graphics on low or medium. Games like this are not worth buying unless you play them with the eyecandy. No matter what the min specs say you need 3gig cpu 6600gt 512megs min to play with at least some eyecandy. Anything lower you'll be turning most stuff on low and lowering the screen res too 1024/768 or even lower. This game is phenomonal when playing with all eyecandy turned up. With everything on low the game is kinda drab.

Dime I had a HIS ATI PCIEpress card. Well I had three of them. One just died, the cooling fans fell off the other two. HIS never replied to one e-mail. I hope you have better luck.

This game requires 3gig+ cpu 1gig ram and a 6600gt to get medium settings with all lighting turned off. The graphics look very nice on medium they look killer on high.I have 512megs ram 6600gt 3500 amd 64bit chip and i can only run on medium / low settings with lighting off to attain really smooth gameplay. The game looks great if you can turn on medium terrain and medium texture details... This is reality.Ati or nvidia make no real difference in gaming period. Both have kick ass drivers. The real deal with this game is ram and a 6600gt min to get min/medium settings. My friend lent me his 6800gt and another 512meg stick of ram and i was able to turn 80 percent of the setting on high with no jerking on the screen when playing. So the ram and the extra graphics power which i might add had 256megs on the card helped alot. I doubt the 6800gt alone made the difference i think the extra 256megs graphics ram made the diff vs my 6600gt.

im on ati x800/ath64 3800 and this game runs fine on max details. it stutters slightly with 1 gig of ram but i added an extra 512 and that went completely.but this game runs pretty well on low spec machones too.my second pc is an semperon 2400 and a gf fx 5200 (total shit card) with 512 of ram and as long as the graphics arent turned up high it plays at 50 - 60 fps just great.been having lan games on this game all last night, im definately buying the full version.

Battlefield 2 Demo

Nice of EA to make a demo that doesnt run on a GForce Ti4400 card, damn! Why do other new games just run in low res mode but this one not, well not a game I'll be buying soon. Just will stick to the still excellent BF1942

Battlefield 2 Demo

Wow my brother just finished figuring out why battlefield 2 demo kept crashing my machine when playing online. Funny no other game crashed but it looks like SERVICE PACK 2 was the culprit. I deleted that piece of crap and now battlefield 2 demo runs a tad faster and guess what no more blue screen of death.

Battlefield 2 Demo

hmm strange how it stutters on your gig of ram.I had the game running @ 1600 1200 all settings high and 2x AA and no stutters at all and nice smooth framerates and i only have 1 gig of pc3500 ram

Battlefield 2 Demo

"Hi yip you guessd it Im buying a new pc Im really sorry Im sure you've heard this so many times but ya could some1 give me any tips? And maby prices if posible?"Ok lets get everything out of the wayCPU: Athlon 64, prolly 3500+ any core will doMotherboard: Your choiceRAM - 1 or 2GBVid Card: this is the main thing, if u want to buy it RIGHT away, i will have to recommend u a 6600gt as much as i hate nvidia. If u can wait though, wait for the r520 series to come, and pick a gfx card AFTER all the cards go down in price and theres a new selection out. the r520(x900)'s are goign to support real PS3.0, so u may want to wait and buy a lower version of these cards, x900, or x900 SE. they should be fair in price and outperform most current mid-range cards. Ur choice though.dont keep asking for tips on selecting a video card, because basically theres ur answer. either a 6600 series now, or wait for r520/g70 to come then select on performance and price range.

Battlefield 2 Demo

forgot my name again in this post too :Palso like to add, the rest of the stuff is obviosly up to u. the hard drive, cd drive, flopy etc is not going to effect ur performance really. The hard drive might, but not a big performance hit unless ur running @ 5400RPM 2MB cache on IDE100 lol..otherwise u'll be fine. If this worries u, just ignore the post completely.

Battlefield 2 Demo

"im guessing now, theres no possible way that it would run on an nVidia GeForce2 MX 100/200 64MB video card, is there? (and i was gonna buy this)"i dont know the list, but its most likely, like 99.99% sure its unsupported. And if i am wrong with that .01% chance, then it will run like pure crap. if u want to play any of the new/next gen games, u may want to upgrade soon or when the new cards come

Battlefield 2 Demo

I have no problems with the launching and running of the demo. It just shows EA's glaring ego with the erroneous controls and how reconfiguring them is just as bad as them not binding keys.

Battlefield 2 Demo

when loading a battle I get to 46% loaded then i'm crashed to desktop with "BF2 memory error"sigh...hope the retail is better.i have 1.5 gig of memory!!!!x800 vid card 256mb!!!!grrrrrr.....

Battlefield 2 Demo

Well I have been waiting for quite a while every1 I talk to says just hold on but ya now I really cant any longer there are quite a few games I would like to play!I feel like Im starting to fall out of the loop these days with all these new things to hehe!: But ya anyway!

Battlefield 2 Demo

hmm well it runs preety good on mine and i have a below par system but with everythink on medium lighting and all and X4 AA thingy it runs great i did max it out to see how it would go and it looked preety much the same which is sweeet:D but did chug i have 512 ram amd at 1200 and a x800 card the only think that is buggy about this demo is that its multiplayer thingy it goes chuggy but its free so who cares oh and the load up time can be very very long and then sometimes very fast who knows but ive never laughed so much in a game for ages and for free too!! so i guess ill be buying it . (oh and service pack 2 as well no problemo)

Battlefield 2 Demo

This demo is pretty good but needs another map, not enough!!!Man what's going on with people not being able to run it? I'm running it on a mediorce comp at 1024x768 with everything on high.Specs: Athlon XP 2500+512mb ddr 400radeon 9600xt 256mb40gb ide hddRuns smooth no troubles :)

Battlefield 2 Demo

I run battlefield on a XP 2500+ 1GB ram and g 6600 128mb,1024-768 2AA everything high except terrain and lightning.Runs smooth. But who cares about graphics, when u cant play on any server cause it lags like hell.Shity netcode.Joint operations is able to connect 150 players in one map.Battlefield 2 isnt even in 16.So if ur gonna buy this software catastrophy, then wait at least until they release a very big patch.

Battlefield 2 Demo

I've got an AMD64 3000+, 512mb of ram and a 9600 (mobility). The game plays at what I'd guess to be about 40 fps with settings at medium at 1024x768 resolution in single player.

Battlefield 2 Demo

I don't know if this is a glitch or not, but people can join your single player game :-O. A couple of friends of mine found that out, and it works fine. Just have someone make a game, and have the clients join by direct ip. Have fun slaying bots!

Battlefield 2 Demo

Well I have a xp 1800 (512MB), with a Ti44400 card (128MB)Most new games run ok on it, altrough low settings but it runs. For some reason EA wants us to force to buy new cards, they could have made it run on a low end machine but refused to do so. I really hate that, so I think I will boycott this game for a while (well I have to do so anyway before I update my computer :)

'Anonymousat 14:4 15/6/2005hmm strange how it stutters on your gig of ram.I had the game running @ 1600 1200 all settings high and 2x AA and no stutters at all and nice smooth framerates and i only have 1 gig of pc3500 ram'i only got pc2700 maybe thats why.wasnt major stutter though, but i like my games to run perfect :)

Battlefield 2 Demo

For me the demo worked great. Graphics are better then BF1942 but it still keeps a touch that made BF42 good. The weapons are great along with commander mode. Also I only had few problems with lag on the servers but thats only because I play on the 32 player servers. Not the 64
