Cenuries have passed since the great galactic war. Since then, the numerous races within the universe have attempted to live peacefully next to each other. The Great Council is watching over the peace and the powers of the empires. However, recently, a small and reclusive race from the edge of the universe called "Thul" has begun to repeatedly violate the peace.

The galactic peace has been in grave danger ever-since as the races grew increasingly suspicious and began to blame each other for these attacks. The Great Council seems to be on the verge of falling apart. A new war seems inevitable.

In all this turmoil, the hero of the game - the young escort pilot Kayron Jarvis - discovers clues about a secret that his murdered father was apparently hiding. An unknown technology that is hidden within the Darkstar One appears to be the key - but then an unforeseen twist changes the course of events dramatically ...

Ok I played this game for a short while and it looks like a failed freelancer wannabe to me.The controls are just awefull. They use the mouse to control you ship just as in freelancer however your view is really limited, there is no decent radar where you can select stations etc (so if you dont know where it is you will have to look around untill you find it.) Further the controls make you feel like you are turning really slow which makes the game boring in time. The grafhics arent any better then those on a good Freelancer mod so I guess enough is said on that point.I didn't play the game long enough to find out things about the story line. The first missions are training so I didn't really get into the story line. The ship is some kind of overpowered monster that you can upgrade by finding these things inside asteroids, in which navigating is annoying. It was a waste of my time...

it's not THAT bad... alas, in some point is even better than FL. you just have to get used to controls and battling, it is almost the same of FL; about the "radar" there simply is not: there is a windows which shows all of the elements of the system. Altough its not like FL, its surely a good space game... just give it more time

well yes I agree Freelancer is the best space game, quickly followed by X3 .. due to it's depth. Freelancer2.. is a long wait.. I might download this i'll have to think about it
