It's been a generation since you vanquished the evil that plagued the Land of Ehb, and now…a new menace has awakened. In Dungeon Siege II, the sequel to the best-selling RPG from Gas Powered Games, you will be called on to again wield sword and spell to save the world from a growing abomination many years in the making.

A thousand years ago, the crusaders of Azunai crossed swords with the legions of Zaramoth in the final battle of a century-long rebellion. As the tyrannical god Zaramoth struck the final blow through Azunai's trembling shield, the earth shook. In that moment, the forces of magic were unchained, and both armies were consumed in a brilliant cataclysm that stretched for leagues across the Plain of Tears. Only a scarred wasteland remained as final testament to the First Age of Man.

And for a millennium, magic has continued to spread to the farthest corners of the world, freely flowing to any who would command it. But the tide of magic has begun to wane, heeding instead the call of an ancient legacy. From the Plain of Tears a new heir beckons, and with each day his strength grows - consuming all those who submit, eradicating those foolish enough to resist. With none to oppose his ascendance, the circle will be complete, and an ancient age will begin anew.

What fate will befall the Second Age of Man? The time for judgment is nigh.

who gives a s**t about the graphics, seriously. The graphics are improved, not by a crap load like HL1 and HL2 but an improvment none the less. The story looks like it will be alot better then the first games story. this thing is no worse then Diablo 2 in my opinion it is better. I didn't find the gameplay to be any more repetitive then any other role playing game (diablo/diablo 2 is the king in this area). One big upgrade for this game is the fighting is much more interactive rather then right clicking once and letting your party do all the work you have more control and are actually required to be their to play the game this time around. I also like that they added in other selectable races and much more custom appearances for your character. For a demo this thing was pretty long which is a plus in my book because it really does give you enough of the game to decide if you enjoy it or not. There was enough just in this demo story wise to convince me it will have a much better story then the last one and will actually have enough twists to keep you interested. As far as the map goes it is like the other one with not too much in the way of freedom there are a couple of points here and their with some choices on direction but over all it all leads to the same place. Now before people go off on this game for this if you even remotely enjoyed Fable you should think again since that game pretty much was the same situation. Now I have heard that the game is supposed to have different endings and a couple of situations further in the game were you have more choices but this is something you will have to see in the full product as you do not go far enough in the demo to see this. I for one enjoyed this demo and I am confident that their will be multiplayer if not right on release through a patch down the line but either way the singleplayer looks good enough to occupy me for some time.

Tried this one at E-3 and was suprised it looked the same. It really does look the same though. Just go into the demo thinking Diablo to Diablo 2 and you'll be fine. Multiplayer has potential! the first one was crack with other people

its a large scale RPG, not a 1st person shooter or graphics demo!Graphics whores go and play your crap-no gameplay-sparkly games and let us have a propper game that actually runs well.alternatively you go and program a huge game world with graphics like Doom3 and make it run at more than 2 frames per second.....

No I am not Savouring my demo experience I played through killed all I could looked for all the secrets I could *like the one behind the waterfall* listened to all the speach instead of reding quickly and skipping and went through all the fighting parts as fast as my character could kill them. I don't know if you know this but the game doesn't end untill you talk to that lady and she says *thank you for playing the beta blah blah blah* I am gonna try it again going as fast as I can and see if I can beat it within 20 minutes I will let you know how it goes.

alright the results: after 20 minutes of gameplay of this demo doing No cutscenes, No talking, No sidequests, No long trips to the shops buying, and No sidehunting. Just going straight through killing what was just in my way to my main quest areas I got up to destroying first tower and then a little ways past that to the first teleporter.. Now having played the whole demo once and knowing how much farther there is to go I can geuss that perhaps the fastest one can beat this game at best is maybe 40 minutes to an hour.. now if I had looked at all the cutscenes listened to the people talk and done some side hunting to kill things that were not on the path and looking for some secrets it would probably have taken me just an hour to get their. I don't know if you are playing the same demo as me but your version sucks if you beat the whole thing in 20 minutes.

Using the same game engine was a mistake it looks horribly dated yet it does not work in win 98, go figure. 1.5 gb for this demo -.- what a waste of bandwith i think the demo is 1.g was movies and 300 mb of speeches.

Everything seems to work perfect like the cutscenes but once the game starts up the picture totally messes up I can't see anything but like a Orange Screen and it blinkigng off and on? does anybody know why? any other games work fine like Far Cry or Brother in Arms, I had same problem with Fear Demo the graphics where messing up

Its your graphics driver out of date or you need a better graphics card, are you sure your running the latest version of DirectX?I thought this game looked ugly till i turned up the resolution its set at in the demo it made quite a large difference on my end.

Hmm its just funny how all this little kids are concerend about the graphics. If you want great Graphics get a "Real Life" ...Because of all those idetique kiddies we now get games with ass kicking graphics but without any new ideas in gameplay and a lot of very short and stupid shooters, i think its great that some developers use old graphics so every1 can play the games without always getting the newest hardware. And another advantage is that the developers have much more time to concentrate on the gameplay. I heard DS2 is 40-60 Hours of gameplay (40 if you just run trough). And to all those kiddies that dont like the graphics go play games like "Kreed" and "Unreal2" ....I still play games like "Starcraft" or "Jedi Outcast 2", "Half Life 1" because they are much better then all the stupid games that are out now with good graphics but without any gameplay ..

Gameplay / Graphics. In the end this game has nothing. This Game lacks Voice actors.this Game lacks a strong storyline. This game lacks "wow factor'This game lacks "selection"This game Leads by the nose, gives the characters no real choice in their actions (very little if any), has linear gameplay and offers very little to the gamer.Ive played real time strategies with more role play than this game.

Dungeon Siege II Demo

Well technically this game is a 'RPG'. So if this game does not have a storyline then it makes sense. This is a demo, they can't cram a whole story line into it. It's a sample of the full game. Also remember, Gameplay > Graphics
