sweet game so far..however who agrees with me on this point...wouldn't it get repetative throughout the whole game? I'm sure once the scare wears off your left with a nicely tuned cinematic shooter. How many times can some girl from sick kids pop out and laugh at you expecting you to s**t your pants?Short campaign for this one, or they're gonna go doom3 style and do a 10 billion hour campaign where everything is the same.

I know of very few people who can run this thing properly, it crawls at a really sluggish pace even on the best machines I've seen.Hopefully it's just early days and the final release will be better optomised, but seriously, I don't see this one succeeding if it's literally unplayable on 95% of consumer's machines...

I thought the AI was fine and as good as anything else out there, and they look great. The lighting and shadows are fantastic and very convincing. The general epperance of the levels is a little ugly, I just couldnt get it to look as sharp and clear as HL2/D3. With my P4 3.2 6600GT and 1GB RAM I noticed little difference in performance from the max specs down to min except for the visual quality. Good story so far, will definatly be keen to play through the full game. Hope it dosnt get much more difficult though!

I was really dissapointed, considering that the came runs like crap with my 3200+, 512MB RAM, and Radeon X800XL video card. The level takes forever to load and I can't even go one minute without experiencing the worst FPS rate ever. I won't give this game a second look till they fix their DirectX issues.

Runs just fine on my p4, 3.6 and 6800GT..no probs at all. However it obviously needs lots of memory as i have a gig of corsair and when u quit the game it takes 10 or 20 seconds till windows is back up to speed.Last time that happend with me was on my old pc with 512mb.No other game does that on my current system.I think the best part was the gun that shoots the bolt type things and pins em to the wall just like in the 1st blade movie them still firing wildly stuck there

Only thing that pissed me off was that maximum reolution is 1280x960 and my LCD needs 1280x1024.This is the same problem that BF2 had..why the hell dont they give that option when so many people run that resolution?

Hmm. Lets see, the game is REALLY amazing, anyone opposite to this is lying and he knows it. I tried the demo yesterday with my 5900XT, but it was almost impossible to play. Today that my new 6800GT arrived the game looks really amazing..... This must a really good game after all.... I'll definitely buy this one....

Some of you guys are really f**kin lame !! the AI on this is just out of this world not to mention the superb graphics and u only get sluggish very little of the time and if the game is sluggish all of the time then you should really invest in a new friggin P.C instead of bad-mouthin 1 of the best FPS out there. superb weapons, great scare and the slow-mo is a nice touch

This demo isent scary to me not in the least bit i think the girl just confused me for minite before i went to town on those grunts.By the way the AI here is very good and i enjoyed the firefights it's worth a go.

You people are retarded if you think an extra 512MB ram is gonna fix the problem. Even with the 512MB ram I have right now, my graphics card (Radeon X800XL 256MB PCI-E) and AMD 3200+ processor is plenty to play HL2 on all high settings with AA with a descent 71FPS. Doom 3 plays perfect on high settings with AA/FSAA at 1024x768, so the problem isn't my amount of RAM. I've already tried the force DX8 setting and turning everything down. If you have any real suggestions other than adding more ram or blasting ATI...throw them my way.

F.E.A.R. SP Demo

well some were rightly suggesting the ram cos thats what makes fear stutter..lack of it! Unless you have 1 gig or more you wont know the benefits of it.But if you wanna blindly say no its not my ram just because you dont want it to be, then dont upgrade and just put up with it.Its no loss to us!As for half life at 71 fps well i get 139 fps in cs hardware test @ 16 x AF and 4xAA all else maxed @ 1024 x786...my specs at 16:50 8/8/2005

I can play the game on limited graphic setting w/maximum effects and corpses somewhat perfectly on my 1.3GHz Athlon. Radeon 9250 128MB, 2100 640MB RamGreat Demo, looking forward to full game after my new rig.

Marc, hate to break it to you, but FEAR is using a lot more features than in HL2 - the volumetric lighting for one, the physics (which we will need an Ageia PPU to help aid our framerates) and the AI. 512mb is pretty measly. I've got a couple of gig and running on a 4000+ and 6800GT at 1600x1200 and the framerate bobs around the 30 mark - but you see things that HL2 didn't have - the dust rising off the floor after a kill, the sparks off the wall, there's a lot happening...that even the best rigs now can't quite cope with at maximum settings. God I love this game - for a demo, it has amazing replay value - the AI is incredible.

I give to you my most deadly secrets in the art of melee:High Flying Kungfu kick of Death: Jump and melee attack at the same time. Some have said this sends their foe on a journey to the neither world as it's sure to slam them half into concrete walls.Sliding Attack of Pain Incarnate: Crouch while moving forward and press the melee button at the same time. It is said that this move fractures every single bone in the enemys body. Leaving them falling to the floor as a lifeless lump.Go now and pratice these moves i taught you well. t(''<)

Finally got this game, took a while to download on 64kbps.I have to say it was worth every minute. I love it, i love the guns, the enemys and more. It sorta reminds me of the first time i played half-life. I think of it as a cross between HL2, doom, farcry, and max payne. It has slow mo like max payne, and the weird possessed dreams he has are like max payne's bad trips.I love the guns, the graphics, the weird little scary girl, the story line, the name.I think the movement is a bit slugging perhaps at times, and the demo was very short with a poorish ending.I'm running:2800+ Barton1024mb Corsair PC3200Geforce 6600GTAnd i've had no problems with the graphics is set automatically.I think this game will be big. I might even buy it.

hydra?..AMD clock speed vs intel clock speed?Ya dont have a clue wtf you are talking about, pls be quiet its embarrasing!btw i own a 9800 pro, so pls no accusations on the fanboy front. I dont favour one or the other!

F.E.A.R. SP Demo

bobort...check your pagefile size or even if you have one set in performance and maintenance advanced..virtual memory.Same thing happend to me with the demo and then i remembered i had set it to zero one time when i was defragging drives.Works perfectly after i reset it!

F.E.A.R. SP Demo

and i upgraded my video card drivers idk why it goes to that black screen for only 2 secs then goes to the website, i am able to run other games like doom 3 and halflife 2 and such fine

F.E.A.R. SP Demo

Hey, it's me again. I think if you're having problems running this on a decent machine, you should DEFINATELY try upgrading to atleast 1GB ram. Made a massive difference in all my games. And when i checked my 'running processes' the FEAR demo said it was taking up 500,000kb of my 1GB RAM. That shows that you need alot more than 512mb, you do anyway for most games now.

F.E.A.R. SP Demo

So..going by that statement then @ 10:11 wtf are we all doing with 1gb and 512k when we dont need it.64MB be ok then?Or maybe no ram at all cos rams got nothing to do with it not loading...u tit!
