Galactic Federation is a space combat simulation game, featuring battles that allow one hundred capital ships, fighters, and bombers to blast away and destroy each other at any one time. The game is built upon an in-house developed DirectX 9 engine that possesses a dynamic geometry damage model, allowing for spectacular ship destruction. Players will see debris fly off their enemies, weapon turrets explode, and ships cut into many tiny pieces. To accomplish this, players will be able to pilot over 20 types of fighters and bombers, and loadout with a plethora of different weapons from the available arsenal.
The demo contains two missions from the main campaign.

List of features:

- A scripted campaign consisting of 20 missions!
- Single-player dogfight missions for instant action fun!
- Dozens of ships to fly and destroy!
- Realistic collisions!
- A dynamic damage model that allows you to deform, cut and blow your enemies while watching them disintegrate piece by piece!
- Use different types of energy and projectile weapons to attenuate enemy hulls! Watch capital ships use their impressive
beams to cut each other to shreds!
- Experience the unique manoeuvring possibilities provided by the realistic flight model combined with the powerful engines
of your attack craft!
- Communicate and give orders to your wingmates!
- Participate in battles between dozens of capital ships, fighters, and bombers!
- Enjoy just under 20 minutes of great action music while you destroy your enemies!

Features currently under development (and will be available through patches):
- Two more campaigns with over 30 additional missions!
- Options to allow you to customizable your controls!
- New ships and weapons for you to use and destroy!
- Improved graphics and textures!
- Powerful editors allowing you to make campaigns, missions, and ships of your own!

Galactic Federation

I wonder what happened to the original gamers of my time. We didnt give a shit about the graphics, soundfx's, music. As long as we got to play a decent plot driven base game. Also space sims are a dying breed. SO we enjoy them as they come. All these youngs punks care for, are there precious graphics. I wish the earth was blasted with an EMP and that once we got back on our feet Atari's 2600, Colico Vision, Vertrex where the only things you'd play games on then you'd get a sense of aprreciation for what the gaming world is now shaped too.

Galactic Federation

yea u got a point, however we cannot forget that technology will advance even if that happened, so theres no avoiding it. and hey dude, there are PLENTY of games with good graphics and kick ass gameplay. and about this game, i only like space sims that are like freelancer. otherwise most of the space sims are gay. the all got this bullshit c**k pit view were ur JUST in the c**k pit and u cant really play anyother way. thats y im probably not gona like this game

Galactic Federation

ahh the atari, what a cool machine. of course, we didnt care about graphics then ebacause we dint know any better. What bad isnt the better graphics, its the poorer effort developer put into making games these days, there in to much f a rush to get the game out now, its all about the money.

Galactic Federation

Ok i respect all you guy's who like the atari and er....i a big fan of the megadrive n sonic but getting to the point, this game, looks like it was slapped together yeh, it might b enjoyable if it was multiplayer aswell!! i dnt really rate this game much, but i also realize tht u shld always try a game out like before u judge it!

Galactic Federation

yea i dl this game, i tryed it out, it seems like a person actually made this on their comp than a company. Graphics= CHEAP AS f**k. Gameplay= CHEAP AS f**k. Over all= CHEAP AS f**k.and BTW: yea the atari was sick, great machine for its time, and yea it was when we didnt care about graphics, but times have changed now, we look at graphics now just as much as gameplay. but never the less, those were the days.....

Galactic Federation

Well... Funkatron you're absolutely right. If i look at this game it reminds me of many many Open Source games i tried so far... and i have to say : Yes the gfx is not as good as those gfxs of 50€ games and the gameplay is - still developing but i've got to admit that it is a game that seems to become a good one !Since WC5 Prophecy there hasnt been any good SpaceSim except Star and Freelancer (which were - afaik from Chris and Erin Roberts and ergo direct followers of the WC series). What i wanted to tell those here who say that this game looks crappy and therefore is crappy is this :Have you ever programmed something more than Hello World yourself ? have you ever been in a situation where you needed the mercy of some graphicers to help you ?Have you ever thought about what a huge work it is to even let a spaceship fly through simulated space ?I would say NO.So... i will play this thing and hope for the next patches to come to make this one a good game to solve boring hours...Nachtwind

Galactic Federation

Graphics should play a part in gameplay that is meant to look nice, if i was to make a game that uses the dx9 standards i would go full out on shaders and and mapping, if the game is fun... great, but dont make it seem like the game will look great (cause it does not), i am not a young punk as i am a game indie game developer, i posted the second post in here, 28 years old.

Galactic Federation

well i have dled this game now and it is a poor effort, not good at all and you cant go around saying all that sh1t about "do you know what it take to make a game, have you tried it, NO!"The simple fact is, if they make a game they want to sell it has to be good, "effort" just dont cut in the real world.

Galactic Federation

In reply to Nactwind, you hit it dead on the nail.Open source games are when people take the time and put a community effort into making it happen. Has anybody thought of what the development team is. Maybe it's just a guy or a few people tired of of todays space sims and wanted to make it there own where they can enjoy it and share it with everybody. Did anyone thank them for there efforts I mean come on this board all I've seen where a poor excuse too not enjoying it are graphics. Is this what comes into a gamers mind these days. Ah the graphics are shit screw this it's off my drive.Either way I'm just trying to say aprreciate fgreely open standard game like this not too many come out with this kind of detail.

Galactic Federation

mayb the finished product will show the world that u dont need a game that requires the equivelent of a server to run it, mayb there tryin to show u can have a good game with crappy gfx, rockstar proved this with GTAVC, dont like the gfx dont get it, make ur own game and c how it is, i had a crack at makin a game with somefriends and is extremely hard and we gave up.dont make fun of the ppl who bring the entertainment for free

Galactic Federation

ok, I'm making a game like this. But with better graphics, bump mapping and bla bla. This is a good effort ya, but my engine can suport 1 thousen of ship in a single battle. And their gameplay is VERY poor. Dont care about the graphic. They just need better artists. The most important its the GAMEPLAY. And their gameplay have to be reviewed.
