Gothic 3, the latest entry in the globally successful role-playing saga, offers players a nonlinear, open-ended role-playing adventure with an enthralling story that presents an extremely detailed simulation of environment and human behavior.

The Story
Players saved their home island Khorinis from the forces of evil in Gothic and Gothic 2. Now it is time to travel to the realms of the mainland, where invading Orcs have enslaved the human kingdom. There are only a few free humans living in the nearly uninhabitable icy northlands of Nordmar and in the southern desert of Varrant, and a handful of rebels hiding in the mountainous forests of the Middle Realm. Players can choose to join the rebellion and stay true to the deposed human king, serve the Orcish usurpers in their quest to topple the last remaining human stronghold, or choose a path that serves their own ends. Every decision made will have an impact on the game world and tip the balance of power. There is no simple linear story in Gothic 3 - every game will be different and unique, with the player ultimately deciding the fate of humankind.

What the hell is wrong with you people. At least base your opinions on facts. If the game runs choppy on your system, you probably need an upgrade since it runs great on mine. It only crashed once on me which ain't too bad for a new game. The game world and characters looked awesome. I didn't like fighting mechanics too much but if you like exploring stuff, you'll love this game. reminds me of Morrowind a lot.

Anonymousat 10:23 17/11/2006What are your specs. Unless your running a FX-55+ with a 7900 GT, this game has extreme performance bugs. I have a 3400+ with a X800 XT. Still a capable card...runs Oblivion on max settings on 1440x900 resolution. Gets about 30-55 fps.
