Rise of Nations is a new historical real time strategy game from Big Huge Games' Brian Reynolds, designer of PC game classics such as Civilization 2 and Alpha Centauri.

In Rise of Nations, you'll create new cities, improve city infrastructures and expand national borders. Conquer foes through military might using everything from sling-shots to cannons to stealth bombers to nuclear weapons; corner the market on key commodities and consolidate power under your rule; wheel and deal across time with history's eminent cultures.

*Cross genre gameplay:
Combining pulse-pounding real-time gaming with the epic scope of turn-based strategy games, Rise of Nations gives you a fast and fun experience. You can play a quick battle on your choice of map as your choice of nation (including random), or play the turn-based/RTS mix Conquer the World Campaign.

*Zooming scale:
See enormous swaths of territory at once or zoom to watch one group of citizens or military unit at work. Maintain command of multiple cities and expansive military campaigns while still controlling the progress of individual cities and battles. Clearly defined national borders let you expand territory strategically.

*Multiple victory conditions:
Gain dominion through non-military and quasi-military strategies including espionage, diplomacy, technology races and territory expansion. Or, simply obliterate all comers through the raw power of a military conquest.

*Streamlined multiplayer:
In the multiplayer mode (up to 8 players), you'll accumulate resources and move through different time periods quickly, reaching the coup de grace in a timely fashion. Victory is just moments away.

I've been palying this game for a couple of weeks now and I've come to realize two things. The first is that it's a copy of every other strategy game out there put together. And the second....It's f**king Awesome!P.S.If you like this game you should definatly check out Empire Earth

this game is shit.i suck at it so it automaticallly sucks too. play counterstrike it has much better graphics and so. i'm da rula @ counterstrike so watch your ass because whenever you play counterstike i'll f**k u up

Reguardles of what game it is you can still campair graphics, its just stupid to do so. My CS graphics are all nicly detailed so im fine with the graphics, and this game has probly good graphics (havnt tried it).

Yes, you can compare the graphics, but it is totally stupid to compare the graphics, like CaT and Anonymousat 11:46 20/5/2003 said. And now to get back to the game, it has awesome graphics, especially for a strategy. Age of Mythology might be a little bit better, though. Already downloaded the full version of this game off of KazaaLite. Figured that the demo may have some other maps, though. Don't buy the game, just download it off of KazaaLite. Itis just to expensive, and it's a Microsoft Game, so you're just paying them back for ripping you off. :>

CaT you dumbass CS graphics are gay as hell but I stopped playing the game cause everyone was 12 years old and the game is 100% unbalanced.Oh BTW graphics doesnt make the game for what it is, I play the game because its fun not because its graphics are the most amazing thing. Dont get the game if you like its graphics.RISE OF NATIONS, this game is sooooo f**king fun. I played it for 2 hours straight

Empire Earth and probably Rise of Nations(I haven't played it yet), are much better than AoE2 & AoM for many reasons. EE is much, much deeper than the others. You actually care about what happens to your civilization, unlike in AoE2 & AoM where the game is over before you really get into it. The way I look at it AoM & AoE2 are short, simplistic mini games. Therefore, simplistic people probably enjoy them more than highly detailed games where you have to actually use your brain and apply strategy to win.

THIS GAME IS AWSOMEive been playing it 4 days straight and it rocks not the best graphics but a veryyy good gameplay. lots of units and the best thing is hat nukes actually does great damage not like EE that only f**ks up only near buildings

Rise of Nations = Ownage.This game is pure awesomeness. Worth the download? You bet your squirmy ass it is! The maps are well thought up, the A.I. is smart and unrelenting, and the resource scheme is original. Download this at all costs.

Hi guys ive just looked at the game's screenshots on the web page [url removed] - looks pretty cool although it reminds me of ee i also want to know can you like scroll the map in like a different angle? i know the unit's are 3d but i think it would look a bit cheesy if the buildings are 2d unless there of a style like ee!
