"World of Warcraft Open Beta Client Now Available!
The World of Warcraft community site and the open beta account-creation pages are currently unavailable. We are experiencing technical difficulties on our end and are working diligently to restore service to this site.
For those who would like to get a head start on downloading the open beta client, we now have it available for you here.

Please keep in mind the following important points:

You can download the open beta client, but playing in the World of Warcraft open beta test requires that you create an open beta account using the account-creation pages on WorldofWarcraft.com. These pages are currently offline, but we are working hard to bring them back up as soon as possible.

Access to the open beta test will be limited based on server capacity, so if more people download the open beta client than can be supported by the open beta servers, some people might not get the opportunity to play.
When the website comes back up, we will be able to provide the open beta account-creation pages so that people can create open beta accounts and start playing if they've downloaded the open beta client (or download the client if they haven't done so already). We do not currently have an estimated time for when the site will come back up, but we are working extremely hard to solve these technical difficulties as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience, and we apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime. For those interested in learning more about the World of Warcraft open beta test, please review the Open Beta FAQ"

A dedicated live team will create a constant stream of new adventures to undertake, lands to explore, and monsters to vanquish. Dedicated live team will create a constant stream of new adventures to undertake, lands to explore, and monsters to vanquish. This content ensures that the game will never be the same from month to month, and will continue to offer new challenges and adventures for years to come."

well you have to admit gw isn't a bad game and then you add in the fact that it is free per month and that makes it ten times better in that regard, as far as the wow beta goes.. anyone else getting download expired every time they try to download wow?

World of Warcraft Open Beta Client

Loki-009 - a mate of mine said he was getting a time out while trying to download it but mine is working (albeit very slow). Downloaded 550mb in 11HRS!!!! (512ADSL in Australia). Do you have any of the ports blocked on your firewall? Check Blizzard for FAQ. Anyway ... W.O.W better be worth it and NOT an Anti-climax. I loved Guild Wars in many, many aspects from the engine, to game play and addiction. IMHO mmorpg games should have free servers like Guild Wars will.

GW is not quite an MMO...it's ben described as a Competitive Online Role Playing Game. So, I guess the distinction qualifies it for free (and honestly, GW doesn't have enough in it to justify a monthly fee, it's so PvP focused it'd be like paying monthly to play UT2K4 online).Just got the WoW beta last night (after 12 hr d/l on a high-end cable =P and it's not bad. I can see this game getting stale quick though, but then, any game does that. I've already bought CoH, dumped it, renewed my acct, then dumped it again. Time will tell, but I'm leaning towards GW.

WOW, is just that...WOW! I've been in the final stress test since the beginning, and now the open beta. I was surprised that servers went down once people started downloading the open beta. This makes me wonder if the servers wont be able to handle the load.I was honestly surprised that so many downloaded it, this will prove to be a very popular game. Read the reviews, look at the screenshots, if you dont like what you see...you probably wont.I never liked WC3 personally, but I dont dig RTS. But I like the fact that all the characters fit right in (NPCs and such) from WC3, it makes you remember the story. And I like the fact that it's cartoonish! But I like games like that (such as Giants)

Omfg why the hell would any1 play sutch a boring game. The fights is the most boring ive ever seen. The textures are really bad and the caracters are all allmost the same. Its nothing that makes this mmorpg greater than others its nothing new.. but i still <3 ya blizzard ;) But right now its hl2 that is in the top...
