Electronic Arts has released a new video of Battlefield 2, showcasing the various vehicles and aircraft available to the player as well as the general lethal mayhem which ensues.

In Battlefield 2, players will choose to fight for one of three military superpowers: the United States, China, or the newly formed Middle East Coalition. Armed with the latest modern weaponry, players can take control of any of the game's 30+ vehicles to engage in major conflicts with over 100 players in some of the largest online battles on the PC.

Battlefield 2 features immense, richly detailed, destructible environments, from city streets to remote forests, in some of the most notorious hot spots around the world. Each map in Battlefield 2 adjusts in scale to support the number of players in the world, providing the ideal vehicle-to-player ratio and an optimized game play experience. Enhanced team play features allow players to enter the action on the front lines as part of a formal squad, or work behind the scenes in Commander Mode to direct the strategic assaults of their team mates. With in-game success, players increase their rank from recruit all the way to General and unlock awards, including new weapons, vehicle decals, medals, and more.

Additionally, Battlefield 2 showcases an all-new game engine and physics system to bring the modern battlefield to life like never before. The new material penetration feature measures weapons' ability to fire through barriers based on their composition and players will need to know the difference between concealment and cover in order to survive.

Battlefield 2 is being developed by the original Battlefield 1942 Sweden based developer, Digital Illusions. Electronic Arts will publish and distribute the game for the PC under the EA GAMES brand worldwide.

Battlefield 2

If you do good then you get weapons eh....i like that, atleast it's something to aim for. I think bf Vietnam was a bit of a flop, personally. This game is gona be great, with it's new engine & physics n all. I'll be getting this game if i hear good reviews about it.

Battlefield 2

If your like me you won't want to "screw around", you'll want to take the war seriously. Your still gona be able to have fun. I'm sure this will run great on my very recently upgraded baby....AMD Athlon XP 3200+2gigs Kingston HyperX DDR PC3200 (CL2)ATI 9800 PRO 256mb (had gfx card for over a year)

Battlefield 2

I think this game is coming out in March 2005. Yea I know, very dissapointing. I'll just play CS & UT 2004 in the meantime. If the reviews are good, I'll probably be getting it first day it releases on store shelves.

Battlefield 2

What? Am I like the only one who thought battlefield 1 sucked? Sure, the graphics in BF 2 looks great, but with physics, higher ROF, double the map size and all, you'll surely need 10 mbits. I just hope they won't take the bad parts of the previous game into this one. For example, rockets are waaay faster IRL, and the tanks shouldn't respawn as fast. That way vehicles wouldn't be so extremely superior that people TK to get one.But then again, Dice won't have to make BF 2 good. They know it will sell just because of the big hype.Let's all go and play Tribes 3 instead :P

Battlefield 2

finally! hope the vid is High-Res. but i have my Geforce 6800 Ultra and my Geforce 6800 Go for my laptop (preordered) so i am ready for BF2! 2048 RAM and 3.4 GHz P4 will be enough for it won't it? i love this game! :D

Battlefield 2

If you don't have that overpriced Intel 3.4Ghz setup you should really look into an Athlon 64. Go to any hardware reveiw site and you'll see that the Athlon 64 runs circles around the P4.

Battlefield 2

Graphics aren't everything to me... I'm just looking for gameplay, especially the SP. There is nothing better than kicking some terrorist ass along side with AI in a LAN party! Is this game going to have a good SP?and... one more thing... this is my rig: Alienware Area-51 LAPTOP.Intel P. 4 3.0 GHz w/ HT Tech1024 MB RAM24 Gigs of HD space left...Geforce Nvidia Go5700 128mbCable.. (doh, who doesn't have it...)Will this game work on my laptop???

Battlefield 2

I remember the first one Wake island driving from cap point to cap point in a jeep. Just that the physics are messed up move faster than a infantry man and you'll get wasted. Just try sliding down a slope or cliff edge. This ruins the fun slightly when you leap out of the jeep in a heroic attempt for the flag only to find your insta-gibbed by the momentium.

Battlefield 2

i wish this game had destructable terrain everywhere. I also wish this game had tons of map objects that have their own physic properties, wish all buildings were destructable. That would make this game f**king unbelievable .. way ahead of any game. I mean wouldn't it be cool if you were in a tank and you see an enemy infantry run into a nearby building, so you blow a big hole in the wall and shoot him dead.

Battlefield 2

@wouldn't it be cool?-i guess it would be yea, but if everything was destructable then all the players would be getting even worse frames than we do on flippin vietnam. I hated 1942 for when you fall to your death after jumping down 5 feet! that was messed up. Vietnam is buggy aswell. I'll be getting this game & i wana make a fresh start. And plus...this is a modern warefare game, so it's gona have class weapons.

Battlefield 2

OH OH OH!!!! WILL IT RUN ON MY 486 DX2 66 8MB EDO RAM and 400 MB HDD???? I also upgraded to a 1 MB VESA LOCAL BUS gfx card, will it support the game???????Will people stop showing off their specs? were not gonna sit here and wank over your PC just coz you got this-and-that inside it, plus how the hell do we know the spec they need to run a game 6 months still from release???

How pathetic are you when you want people to judge how cool you are based on your computer specs. Grow up. As for the game running on your computer, You know just as much as anyone else when it comes to the minimum/recommended playable specs. Do you think anyone from the dev team is going to come in here and give you an answer or are you just a dumbass?

Battlefield 2

Wow... instead of being mature about it and just giving me a simple answer, you gotta blab around like an idiot....OBVIOUSLY this game's graphics look almost too good to be true, which is why i was a little unsure if this game would run on my rig. Now YOU stop being the dumbass and give a simple answer you immature pricks! I wasn't expecting a dev team to come and answer me! I just wanted to see if anyone here knew if it would run on my rig! I mean really... "Anonymous".... how old are you.... four??? stupid crack pot.....

Battlefield 2

I really son't see any harm in ppl posting there specs concidering this is a game that's gona use up more juice than Vietnam. I don't however like ppl lying about there specs (which u never know if they are anyway) & ppl who are just acting the clown & posting there great specs & asking "will this work on mine?" when they should already know that it will (if there specs are great that is) I don't lie about MY spec's, & i certianly don't mind reading other ppls just aslong as there not doing it for attention. I'd say that Battlefield 2 will require minimum system requirements of a 2.2ghz athlon (or pentium equiv) & 128mb of RAM, 512 recommended i would think.

Battlefield 2

Ok.. THANK YOU! for being mature about it and just giving me the answer, unlike some morons...anyway, i know i have the 2ghz, but will this run on my laptop that has this (what i think is kinda crappy) video card:NVidia Geforce Go5700 128mb.So, if you can, please tell me if you THINK this will run the game on high settings. Thanks for not complaining...

Battlefield 2

Put it this way...Half Life 2 will run on a Nvidia 5200, so it should run fine on that card. It's not just what card you have, it's a mix of things. If your main aim is to run a high-end dx9 game on full video settings (everything cranked up to max) then that requires raw GPU power (GPU-GFX card) It also depends on how much RAM you have, do you have DDR? if so..what speed? & how much? We've established that you have an AMD athlon between a 2800+ & 3200+ (1.83ghz-2.2ghz) so that's fantastic. I would recommend getting a better gfx card only if you wish to crank all your detail & texture etc settings up to max. If you have an excellant gfx card, then it will take strain off the processor, thus not needing a very high processing speed.

Battlefield 2

I'd classify high-end gfx cards as...ATIRadeon 9800pro 128mb-256mbRadeon 9800XT 128mb-256mbX800prox800xt PE (Platinum Edition)Nvidia, i duno alot of Nvidia cards butobviously all the diffrent chips of the 6800possibly a 5950...i'm not sure. Those are cards that i would class as high-end cards. & np

Battlefield 2

Your card that you have has been proven to reach much higher frames than the gforce go5650. So that's a pretty good notebook gpu you have. Bit desktop pc's have the best gpu's

Battlefield 2

correct anonymous, correct. I own a 9800pro 256 & it plays all my games very, very well. It helps that i have my athlon 3200+ & 2gigs of Kingston HyperX DDR pc3200 (cl2) to back it up. I think the 9800pro still has ALOT of life left, 2years or more starting in 05.

Battlefield 2

why dont you wait to find out till the game comes out? what are the chances of having the same pc in 6 months? why not save for 6 months and when the game comes out buy what they recommend then?btw why is this forums so brutal?

Battlefield 2

Ya, those specs wont run the game. You're gonna have to upgarde to a 350mhz P2 with 64ram with a voodoo3. My PC is 400mhz 128ram and a voodoo5 and I can run the leaked HL2 full version and Doom3 to max graphics on the highest res.I have another PC which is a P4 3.8GHZ with 1.5 of rd-ram with a 260gig harddrive and a X80xt pe videocard and I have to put it on the lowest res and graphic settings to even play HL2 or Doom 3 at a decent framerate.I benchmarked both and my 400mhz outperformed my 3.8ghz by like 100x.

Battlefield 2

Just let me give u an advice pls, i have been in the same process i have a pc with 2.0 p4, 512 ram, nvidia 4600 ti, audigy platinium, and the normal stuff.. then i suddenly began changing my graphics from medium - high to low - low and some freezing in the games... i was making numbers about buying a 6800 nvidia, new mother board, more ram, new power source, etc.. the amount of money is crazy.. and then in a medium time again....what did i decide.. i keep my pc.. and then bought an xbox (i now its not the same... but cheaper)this will be in xbox also so i will get it...if u didnt like my advice, pls just ignore me, it was with my best intentions..bye

Battlefield 2

Anonymousat 12:56 11/11/2004 . don't u know that we're all tired of bullshitters like u? Apparently thre's sth wrong with your p4 3.8. Try clocking it to it's normal specifications and retest it

Battlefield 2

Hey DreamasterYa, I'm also sick and tired of upgrading my PC just to play 1 game.I'm gonna keep the PC I have now. I already have a PS2 and GC.Once the PS3 and Xbox Next come out, don't worry dude. EA will make a BF2 for those consoles with better graphics with the same amount of players that can join the game. Also, dont worry about a mouse and keyboard, they're gonna become standard for next gen consoles for FPS games. Also, HL2 and Doom3 will also be on a PS3 with better graphics since the power of next gen consoles will beable to handle 10x the graphics of HL2 and Doom3 that are on the PC now.
