Earth, 2019: A colossal asteroid crashes down to Earth.

The North Korean Government quickly seals off the island chain, claiming the mysteries of the asteroid for themselves. The United States responds by dispatching an elite team of Delta Force Operators to recon the situation and report back to the Pentagon. Amid rising tensions between the US and North Koreans, the asteroid suddenly bursts open, revealing a massive, 2km high alien ship. The ship generates an immense force sphere, freezing a vast portion of the island and drastically altering the global weather system. The invasion of Earth has begun.

The two rival nations unite to stop the aliens and save mankind. The newly formed alliance fights epic battles against the marauding Aliens. With hope rapidly fading, the player must lead a crack squad through lush tropical jungle, harsh frozen landscapes, and finally into the heart of the alien ship itself for the ultimate Zero G encounter with the aliens.

Crysis offers players a highly immersive FPS experience in which they will have to adapt their tactics, weaponry, armour and gameplay style to survive and defeat the alien invasion.

Crysis DX9 vs DX10 Video

"This videos sucks,it looks nearly exactly the same, and they are using different scenes for DX10 and DX9."I agree.Detail settings can all so be lower at DX9. M$ and nVidia are assisting the Crytek with Crysis so they need DX10 to look a lot better then DX9 so people would buy Vista and GF 8800 craphics cards. :E

Crysis DX9 vs DX10 Video

There IS a difference in the two videos. The DX10 version has a lot better lighting (notice how the sun's rays shoot down from the trees?). Also, they are the same scene, they just look different because of the nature of the world and how it is totally destructible.

sun rays?? similiar trick is in God of War for PS2 so poeple who buys Vista and new gfx for sun rays or other cheap effects in Crysis seems to be stupid or easy to manipulate by hype about that pure game ...

Crysis DX9 vs DX10 Video

There aren't alot of things in this video that set DX9 and DX10 apart. The BIGGEST difference is not something you realize right off. DX10 can handle much, much more detailed shaders and scenes than 9. Everything is scaled up. Google it.The rest of the stuff can be done in DX9 and if not that, OpenGL.

Oh, and detail is more limited on DX9 than 10 for that very reason. Also, No current consumer-level setup can run this game at full whizz-bang detail, so don't expect it to happen. It doesn't seem very scalable.I think Crysis will be a really cool experience, but more of a tech demo than a game. They're proving it with all these "OMG DX10" videos.
