Electronic Arts today announced that more than 1.2 million copies of the FIFA 09 were sold through in its first week on shelves at European retail, making it the fastest start in the history of the franchise.

FIFA Soccer 09 launches in North America and Asia on October 14, 2008. It will be available on Wii and Nintendo DS in North America on October 28, 2008.
