AGETEC announced that it will bring WILD ARMS Alter code: F, a brand new title based on the original WILD ARMS, to North America exclusively for the PlayStation 2 this Winter, as well as KUON, a period-based survival horror game. For images from KUON, follow the Screens tab above.

Developed by Media Vision and published by Sony Computer Entertainment in Japan, WILD ARMS Alter code: F, is a true, traditional role-playing game (RPG) offering fresh, new characters, enhanced graphics, intricate puzzles and an innovative new battle system. Set within a background of stunning music from the critically acclaimed composers of the WILD ARMS and WILD ARMS 2 soundtracks, WILD ARMS Alter code: F delivers an epic role-playing adventure coupled with emotionally-inspired CG sequences to enhance the classic heroic storyline.

Returning seven years after the first release of WILD ARMS on PS one, WILD ARMS Alter code: F is not only a remake of the foremost title in the series, but a completely renewed and evolved experience with expanded story, system and cutting-edge graphics.

On Filgaia, a planet where severe conditions and savage beasts threaten the very existence of all life, guided by the Ancient Guardians, three brave warriors rise to save their benign world from the returning metal demons - the prophesized destroyers of Filgaia. In the game, players assume the roles of the original cast members from WILD ARMS: Rudy - A mysterious child who wields the evil power christened as ARM; Jack - A swordsman who travels in search of a lost treasure; and Cecilia - A princess with the gift of a medium to communicate with the Guardians. Driven by adventure and a calling to reestablish order to their dying world, these Dream Chasers prepare to embark on a journey of epic peril, with each unaware of the other's mission to save their world as they are of their own fates. In a world on the brink of ruin from a merciless alien race, the wheels of fortune are about to turn.

WILD ARMS Alter code: F is an enchanting adventure that ties together the tales of the three beloved characters with three new playable characters -- Emma, Jane, and McDullen. Players of the original WILD ARMS will recall that Emma is a brilliant scientist who researches and repairs ARMs, and her expertise with firearms proved to be helpful to the group. They should also recognize Jane Maxwell as the feisty, assertive, and greedy teenager nicknamed Calamity Jane, and McDullen as her faithful and patient butler. Each character possesses unique individual attributes, including their favorite weapons and destructive combat skills that aid in the journey.

WILD ARMS Alter code: F features an enhanced battle system that delivers a cinematic experience with improved features, including crossfire sequences like those utilized in WILD ARMS® 3, that provide for extremely intricate and challenging gameplay. Innovative sepia-toned texture "shading" technology brings to life the vibrant and energetic visuals in a western setting, filled with murky dungeons, mystic creations, monster-plagued frontiers and scavenged woods. In addition to featuring a completely 3D world, dungeons will include plenty of new traps to foil players in their quests and characters have plenty of helpful abilities, ranging from the traditional (running, picking up objects, and leaping) to the stealthy (sneaking and observing) to help them through sticky situations.

Features:
- Over 60 hours of gameplay - Dual Layer DVD is used to hold the massive amount of gameplay, music, and graphics.
- Proven storyline - combining the story that attracted many players with the latest technology and gaming system.
- Redeveloped script - completely rewritten script with new plot twists and puzzle solving.
- Stunning graphics engine - detailed characters, enemies, and environments truly bring the game to life.
- Evolved battle system - control up to six party members to pummel the enemy.
- New environmental effects - blowing wind in the wilderness, sparkling waters, sunlight trickling into towns, and bubbling lava filled ruins. The attention to detail and expression of space are the best in the series.
- Enhanced "realistic" character graphics - the familiar super deformed faces from the original were transformed into accurately proportional graphics.
- Redrawn environments - the maps, towns, and dungeons were completely recreated and updated into 3D format, and all the visual designs were redrawn from scratch.
- HDD Support - load the game directly to the Hard Disk Drive (40GB) (for PlayStation®2) to decrease load times.

KUON

Developed and published by FromSoftware in Japan, KUON is a one-of-a-kind weapon and magic based horror game offering novel gameplay mechanics, thought-provoking puzzles, mind-bending mini-games and a truly fascinating storyline. Set in the visually stunning Heian era (794-1192 A.D.) of ancient Japan, KUON features beautiful 3D-graphics with shocking CG cut-scenes to create an unforgettable horror-adventure that is sure to keep players on the edge of their seat.

KUON is based on an ancient type of Japanese horror story (Kwaidan). It beckons gamers to a dark and gruesome castle in the Japanese town of Kyoto where mutated creatures and unimaginable horrors await the multiple playable characters. When the story starts, players can choose to play: Chapter of Shadow as Utuski, a teenage girl in search of her father, Doman - the local exorcist (Onmyoji) - who was sent to the castle with a few of his followers to investigate strange occurrences; or Chapter of Light as Sakuya, one of Doman's followers. After finishing both chapters, the Chapter of Kuon begins and the real horrific truth can be discovered as players assume the role of a master Onmyoji.

KUON's unsettling storyline and haunting moral connotations are achieved through gory visuals and vivid imagery, yet it also possesses the artistic and cultural beauty of classical ornaments and the famous kimono form of dress. The tune of Japanese Taiko Drums and the dark hymns of children are heard throughout the night. Residents wander like ghosts, and hungry demons creep in the darkness. Stave off the attacks of grotesque monsters in real-time 3D with Heian-period weaponry and the exorcism art of Onmyojitsu. Learn new spells from scrolls found throughout the castle that allow players to cast magic and summon over a dozen different creatures to do their bidding. Uncovering the disturbing plot, one twist at a time, relies on players' quick reflexes, ability to solve challenging puzzles, mini-games and a sturdy will to stand up to nightmarish world of unimaginable psychological horrors.
