Analyst: Wii Manufacturing Cost Down 45 Percent Since Launch

Credit Suisse analyst, Koya Tabata, suggested that Nintendo has been able to cut the manufacturing costs of the Wii by 45 percent since its launch.

If this figure is correct, then Nintendo may be able to lower its popular console's price to stimulate demand outside of Europe and USA.

Wii is still dominating the home consoles market in the west, but it has been taking a dive in Japan for a while with Playstation 3 outselling it for 5 weeks now.

I don't see prices dropping...they better, because you can buy an X360 for 160$ + 50$ HDD on Ebay. Staying 250$ is a bit of a slap in the face to us...especially considering the stock issues all these years. The hardware differences don't even need to be mentioned either >_>. I would say 160$ for a Wii is fair...barely any adult titles out and mostly kiddy games. Snap into reality Nintendo. You're awesome, but c'mon now.
