Call Of Duty Elite Pricing And Details – Is It Worth It?

Activision revealed today the pricing and details of its new Call of Duty Elite subscription service. The annual subscription fee for the new service is $49.99 only, which is less than $4.25 per month, but we are not sure if it is worth it.

The core features of Elite are not that different from the basic features of similar free services such as Valve's Steam and Blizzard's Battle.net. Those features include chat, social networking, skill tracking and clan management.

New features in Elite include a strong Facebook integration that allows players to assemble multiplayer matches with people from their friends list. The service will also be accessible through a mobile app.

The main draw for the new service is free access to new downloadable content on monthly basis. This content will still be available for purchase to non-Elite players.

"Just buying the DLC alone would cost you $60 a year," Activision CEO Eric Hirschberg noted.

Hirschberg's note is true only for players who buy each and every piece of DLC; however, data unveiled by the man himself earlier revealed that the average player spends $16 only on them. Additionally, non-Elite players will also have access to "a lot of" the new social features.

A free one year Elite subscription is included with every copy of the Hardened edition of Modern Warfare 3.

Just don't buy it

The only COD games I thought that were worthwhile playing are, Modern Warfare 1, and Black Ops. I thought Black was the best out of all of them because it wasn't the same as the rest. However, I haven't played World at War yet. Is it worth it?

what a joke

Its only a FPS and not to forget in graphics and realism its NOTHING like BF3...its almost the same cost as xbox live....no way...lol i laugh at anybody who would sign up. one game....thats all it is..plus the current graphics engine is so out of date. Seriously??? yearly payments??

agreed

Battlefield always gives us new dlc and maps for free. So y waist time and money on MW3 and it's dumb elite which takes ideas that are already in place by other programmes. Can these guys stop bragging that it is never seen before....

right

I'm actually writing this as i have MW2 open trying to connect to any game for past 5 minutes - weird BUG after startup. Whole system is glitched, lots of cheats, host migration sucks ass(kicking person hosting) and bunch of other shit. In other words BF3 here i come. F u activision

Agreed

BF3 account is free, so why would I pay for a premium account for a game that is already more expensive than BF3, has worse graphics, and probably no servers in my country, like all the previous CODs after COD4?
