In line with Sega's comments earlier this week, Antoine Seux the director general of Capcom France also expressed his disappointment at hardcore games' performance on Wii.
Seux revealed that Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles failed to sell more than 16,000 units by December 23 - much lower than Capcom expected.
Seux noted that Resident Evil 4 did well on Wii, selling more than 140,000 units, but he believes that this was because it was released in 2007 when few games were available for the platform. This has changed now that Wii has been overwhelmed with games in 2009 and core games such as Resident Evil, House of the Dead and Madworld are failing to compete with casual games for consumers' limited money.
