"because u will get a whole 3 marks extra in 3dmark!!"Try a couple thousand more points. And a graphics solution that will be able to handle ANYTHING for the next 2-3 years. However, these things are far too expensive. The only people that get them are the gay ass review-teams. And some rich bastards who should be shot in a repetitive motion.and i can build a good comp with 600...

Buy a Nvidia. Ok fanboy. All cards from all companies you moron won't be able to handle games in the next 2-3 years. The 5800 and the 5900 and the 9800 series will not run Unreal 3 when it comes out. Then again so will the 6800 ultra and the xt800. This comes from the very mouth of the creator of the game. Tim Sweeney. 2-3 years and buy a Nvidia card...what a ass. ATI or Nvidia, they won't handle those games in 3 years you dolt

R500 will be a behemoth.Winner ATI for three years running now!! All review sites say that the R420 series outperforms the NV40 series, so don't deny it!!

people need to grow up... first off as tech. grows (direct x 9 to 10) so does the need for better video card... will a 9800xt be used in 3 years from now on a new game??? yes it will be, it will just not have all of the visual effects, but it will look good (just not great)i own a g4 ti 4600 and an ati 9800 pro and both can play farcry with good frames per second. of course the ati has some incredible shading and light effects that make the game even better...here is a great experiment for people to understand where i am going with this. take a friend who just owns an x-box. have them see farcry on the g4 ti 4600 (my one friend thought the game was...in his words "wow!!! amazing!!!") now let that person see it with the 9800pro running it

continued....(he just stared at the monitor and in little whispers you could here him say... "wow...wow...wow")heck i know one guy playing Ut2004 with a G4 400MX (direct x 7.1 card) and is happy with it.so will a card last 5 years the answer will be yes, but of course it will be set at the lowest visual effect possible.

farcry has shader 3.0[url removed] is a link that will tell you what shader 3.0 will do... most of you guys have it wrong. after you read this site about shader 3.0 and taking a look at the reviews of both 6800 and the 800x you all might come to a better understanding of how things work.ps this site is NVIDIA friendly and will try to defend them in anyway as possible... but the truth is the trutha better sight is[url removed] want to see how fast you can play in a real gaming world (no bench marks)

hmmmz... so many good cards, and so few dollars to spend... damn it :Pi guess i'll just wait till i can't play games with my current stuff (G4 Ti 4400)... i'll just play everything on low settings, and when that doesn't work:then i'm gonna do the BIG-UPGRADE... that means: the best of everything, and then i'm gonna wait till i can't play stuff anymore and do the next BIG-UPGRADE

"U guyz r idiots if u going to buy a x800 pro, u should buy a 6800 GT, its much more powerfull and costs 90 bucks less. Nvidia is the way to go =D "Okay Fanboy. Too bad you still cannot buy one retail or the fact that the X800pro can over-clock to XT speeds and mod to a full 16 pipelines. Where would you think that would put it's performance compared to the 6800GT. Past it as the XT800 beats it.....

First...How much do you have to spend? Second...How big is you current PC box? Third...How much power do you have in that box?You are a ATI owner, unless the card from ATI gave you problems, stick with ATI. The next gen cards from Nvidia and ATI are basically the same. The only issue you will have if you get a 6800Ultra is your current power supply. (Better be at lest 480W if you plan to over-clock or do any media applications.) And the size of your tower. If you have a Form Factor lan box like me, the 6800Ultra is a definate no-no. It won't fit. Besides that, they are all good.

hey you guys that are saying the 6800 GT outperformes the X800 Pro well ive read many reviews and spec sheets and i see that the 6800 GT only out performs the x800 in games the use the shader model 3.0 and the only game that does use 3.0 right now is Farcry. and yes you can argue that Doom 3 and half-life 2 will use PS 3.0 but the performence increases with farcry using 3.0 are small anyway
