WEll this is one bad-ass computer, leaves any IBM-type PC in the dust. Too bad MACs are fucing useless. lol, wtf dude, like 1% of PC owner's own MACs of course publishers don't want to release MAC games, no profit to make. Now, if this rhing was Windows and IBM compatible, I'd f**king buy it.

Its obvious to me that most of the people the post here don't really know anything about computer or the industry beyond how to camp and sniper in games. Why would you need a good graphics card on a MAC? Well I don't know maybe a graphics artist or a 3D designer for starters. Most graphic artist use MAC for there work and the better the graphics card the better quality work they do.Now I know a lot of you f**kers are going to say "Then why don't they just use PC's." Well the reason for that is because when it comes to processing power MAC leave most other PC in the use seeing how the MAC processors have had about 1MB of L1 cache since 2001 and 2MB of L2 cache. Something only recently some chip manufatures have done.

if macs had all the games pc's have the pc would be pretty much dead. Gamers have created the need for all these techno inovations. Games are what made the pc in the 1990s and definately in the second century for sure.... macs have little foothold in the computer industry based on the fact they dont own the gaming industry... These days sales are all about gaming and video... sound too but thats the only thing macs got going for it.. The mp3 stuff...I'd buy a mac in a heart beat if they had every game pcs had and they didnt have connecting issues with the internet.they have the most kickass operating system and there monitors are drop dead gorgeous... I'd sell my children if i had any just too get one of these babys..

Maybe you should look over the article more closely. It uses the 9600XT, and 9800XT, they are graphics cards designed for gaming not the type used for graphic modeling or 3-D design. Something more like the ATI FGL 9800 would be used, not a 9800 XT. This machine was obviously built as a gaming machine to try to lure software designers to produce games on their system with its power. What strikes me as ironic is that they dont even use ATI's fastest graphics card (the x800), and the AMD 64 bit processors are arguably faster processors anyways. Dont spend the money to switch over to a useless over hyped MAC, spend it on something which makes sense to buy, and IBM based PC.

go to [url removed] and hit the link for their dual G5 Macs they never compare a Dual Opteron, wonder why? I have built 2 already with 1 Gb of Ram and they kick ass... the only problem is that there were not enoght money to buy the 2CPUs with 2.2GHz!!! The grafic artist like the Macs but it is obvious that they learned every thing on a Mac that is the reason they don't try a PC... when you show them the same can be done they can say to much about it...

holy shit, I've never seen a post with so many ill-informed Mac bashers in my life.First of all, if you hate ATI, go ahead, but saying a Mac sucks cause there's an ATI card in it? Come on people...Apple IS NOT ATI...TWO DIFFERENT COMPANIES!!! If you hate ATI so much, buy any of the Mac nVidia cards, including the Geforce 6800 and drop it in.Second of all, why does a Mac need a faster graphics card if it doesn't game? If you know anything about Mac OS X, you'd know that all of it's desktop GUI is routed to the graphics card, allowing the CPU to perform other tasks. The next version of Mac OS X (Tiger) will actually route all sorts of image and video manipulations to the graphics card. What that means is, never having to wait for photoshop or final cut pro to render again. To the person who posted the Dual Opteron setup. I agree, Opterons will give a G5 some stiff competition, but unfortunately, Opterons can't run Apple's OS or it's creative software like Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro which is WIDELY used in the Professional industry, as is the Mac. (read: People who make their living with their computers, not just play games).I am a creative professional as well and I own both a Mac (all my design/video/audio work) and a PC (all my gaming needs).I didn't choose to stick with a Mac just because "I learned everything" on it in the first place. I stick with it because it has the best software/hardware for the job that puts food on my table and then some.As for Apple making crap products, haven't you ever read into the history of some of the most commonly used technologies in your computers?Firewire, USB, 802.11B, and DVD-R/RW Drives are just a few things that were first pushed out to the mass market equiped on a Mac.Recently, they've done another first by releasing a 30 inch LCD support an amazing resolution, color accuracy, and response time.BTW, who ever said buy an "IBM based PC", who do you think makes the G5 CPU? I'll give

Mac's pwn Pc's hardware wise and ATI rules hands down, nvidia sucks with there 5 pound 6800 ultra that uses a vaccum to cool it and has image quality equivilant to ATi's 9800 XT haha they are behind the times not to mention the performance isn't as good as ATI's in most games. Nvidia put PS 3.0 support in there card but games won't be usin that for a good long while now so that was pretty dumb of them, Nvidia sucks MAc rules, PC rules Ati Rules hahaha your all retards, go suck a black man's slongalong

skwirl has obviously never heard of Adobe Premiere or the other 50 billion applications that are easily obtained on a pc.There's only one reason for macs. It's designed for the retards out there who have trouble comprehending the simplest things like a 2 button mouse.Mac's have pretty looking peripherals. But I'm not spending $50 on a basic mac keyboard or even three grand on a 30-inch display. For that money I would by a kick ass pc with two 17-inch lcd displays that could stomp any mac into the dirt. Not only that, my pc could run all the "professional" software and be able to play the latest games.

man it sucks so bad mac people get a kick ass operating system and alls we get is garbage like windows xp.... crap now they get dual chips with x800xts we are phucked.. Id buy one in a heart beat unfortunately there just ain any games and thats all i do all my life is play video games..

Dual 64-Bit Power Mac G5s with ATI XTs

LOL Rumple Foreskin:You know many Mac users use 2 button mouses right? I am a PC gamer too. I guess I have to use a 1 button mouse on my PC right? please...Premiere? Of course I know about it. Seriously man, I work in the professional film/video field! I guess you're next smartass question will be "I guess skwirl never heard of Vegas either"Premiere was on Mac OS X until Final Cut Pro beat it out of the Mac market with much better features and performance.Premiere for PC still exists because that's the best the Windows platform has and Adobe knows this.Avid and Final Cut Pro are the 2 most used editing systems in the film industry. People are switching to Mac cause it costs less than Avid stations.I have a dual 17 inch LCD setup on my G5 too. They're both NEC monitors. As for the price of the 30-inch display. Have you found a similar monitor at a way better deal? Please show me.Macs aren't designed for retards. They're designed for creative professionals in the industry who make money with their computers. Not just play games.Oh yea, your PC "can't" run all the professional programs out there as you claimed. If it could, you'd be able to run Final Cut Pro.Oh, and I don't care how much a PC can beat my mac in gaming benchmarks. I don't get paid on how high my 3dMark scores are.

PCs can play all games- that's what counts here... however, when viruses and hackers screw with ur pc then it becomes a lump of shit.Macs are near resistant to that. plus they are soo cool. their raw figures dont mean much because that's amd's argument

Dual 64-Bit Power Mac G5s with ATI XTs

" they are soo cool"Nearly half the software for windows aren't avalible for mac. Windows is alot more flexible than mac. Windows makes it alot easier to use its OS and to install hardware and software.Theres my point, if you would like to settle this elsewhere send me your AIM name.

Anonymousat 1:42 2/7/2004PCs can play all games- that's what counts here... however, when viruses and hackers screw with ur pc then it becomes a lump of shit.if ppl really wanna bag an OS make it linux, after all the megagames site is hosted on linux, 90% of the worlds servers hosting websites r linux and when they where making games for lonux and windows the games ran much better on linux,i run my comp on linux (Xandros) and this linux can use all windows appz, no viruses and my games improves in performance by about 30%.dont say this and that sucks if u never used it b4,in farcry on my FX5700 i can run the game on high detail with a AMD 2800+ cpu and a gig of ram, put windows on it and i can only run farcry on medium 2 low settings,Linux rulz if u know how 2 use it

those of you complaining that there are no games made for macs so its useless to put 9800s in them use your mind a little. they're introducting high end GPUs into their G5s so that game companies will start considering to release games for them too.
