EA Louse Reveals How Management Destroyed Warhammer And Bioware

Not unlike the famous "EA Spouse" who blogged about the poor working conditions at EA several years ago, an unidentified person who claims to be a BioWare Mythic employee has started up a blog called "EA Louse" where he disses the company's management.

In the blog EA Louse admitted that he is disgruntled because "[he] found out recently that I will be dismissed from Bioware Mythic during the next round of layoffs EA coming this November. I'm sick of seeing EA outsource their art and find every excuse to get rid of us and still not achieve anything. Mythic is dying, and it's not us who killed him but we're taking the fall."

EA Louse then revealed why (in his opinion) Warhammer 40K Online failed. "First, the project leaders did not know what they were doing. Jeff Hickman was the saddest excuse for a producer I've seen. All he did was drink the Koolaid and suck up to the right people. He was the perfect yes-man, and this reached down to almost all managers."

Another revelation made by the EA Louse is that EA spent more than $300 million making Knights of the Old Republic MMORPG. "And you know what they're most proud of? This is the kicker. They are most proud of the sound. No seriously. Something like a 20Gig installation, and most of it is voiceover work. That's the best they have. The rest of the game is a joke. EA knows it and so does George Lucas, they're panicking , and so most of Mythic has already been cannibalized to work in Austin on it because they can't keep pushing back launch."

"We sold mor ethan a million boxes, and only had 300k subs a month later. Going down every since. It's "stable" now, but guess what? Even Dark Age and Ultima have more subs than we have. How great is that? Games almost a decade make more money than our biggest project."

EA Louse was right even in 2013

The EA ship continues to sink... this year 2013 EA was named worst company for second consecutive year. And now Keaven Freeman leaves the Warhammer Online ship. Tough year for EA. Again EA Louse was right. He was always right. Warhammer Online should be free by now.

Wow EA really is going down,

Wow EA really is going down, but we as Real gamers cant do anything. we have so many idiots who believe every FIFA is different and more epic than the last the make it profitable with buying each pathetic title. The last C&C was 3. C&C4 and Red Alert was terrible. I have played the demo of the Upcoming EA MMA, and its a horrible attempt to beat the UFC2010 title. which by far is more superior MMA game.

BTW EA Sports was approached by UFC to make a MMA game. but told UFC "No, MMA and UFC do not count as actual sports" :O. THQ took this task and proceeded to make the SPORTS GAME OF THE YEAR title UFC 2009 Undisputed. . . .FIFA can take that up the bum lol

Doesn't surprise me.

Doesn't surprise me. EA hasn't produced a good game since 2005. They keep buying up these development studios and cannibalizing them to pump out half-finished, unpolished, unoriginal, boring sequels to what were once great games. I miss the old days before EA became this giant where game development was more about making great games. I honestly don't buy anything with an EA label anymore because I've just been burned too many times.

EA killed Westwood and Command & Conquer as well

Remember back in 1998 when EA bought Westwood and the Command & Conquer series? Remember when the game series that was beloved by millions of fans started dying at that point? How did they go from C&C, Red Alert, the sequels, to something like C&C4, which is one of the worst games to come out of EA. Red Alert 3 was terrible too. EA has no heart for video games. They can do business like a pro, but they can't produce a fun game. Everything that involves EA usually turns to shit eventually. The C&C series was a very important part of my video game history, and to see the series shit on by the morons at EA really disappoints me. I didn't have high hopes for Medal of Honor either. I knew the Taliban thing was just a publicity stunt. Pathetic.

EA needs to go away. Or just suck less. I really agree with EA Louse.

Hiiii

A Game can Fail before it come's out.
Look at Left 4 Dead 2....but it's Australia's Fault it Failed -shakes fist-

Medal of Honor - people hated the Beta and the Multiplayer, it's Semi Fail.

the Shit he posted makes perfect sense. it's a Rant, but a Rant of the good kind.
most Corporations of Game design hire retarded suck up's 2 be in charge of people.

( don't diss my English, i'm Dyslexic )

???

Bioware = Dragon Age + awakening
Bioware = Mass Effect 1,2 and third upcoming
Bioware = Dragon Age 2 upcoming

How is it destroyed? It's the one of the biggest developers of the modern gaming era!!
EA only gives the money for the work.

Seeing how many typping errors this "supposed" employee makes no wonder he was fired :D
(unless those typping errors are megagames originals :D)

ToR is no joke

I've tested parts of ToR, and I can tell you, it's nothing to sneeze at. Some of the stuff may seem trivial, but the game is going to be absolutely incredible.

I will agree with the guy though. EA is one of the worst excuses in the world for a game company, I hate just about everything about them.

Well after I found out that

Well after I found out that EA purchased BioWare I never had my hopes up at all. The combat video they showed at E3 for me didn't really show enough for me to want to preorder it which I won't until some kind of trial version comes out or one of my friends buys it and I'll see for myself. As far as the blog goes I could see some of this being true so I wouldn't dismiss anything yet.

what the fuck has this guy

what the fuck has this guy been smoking sounds just like a pointless ran considering that... both games are yet to be released... no shit ultima has more subs the games out.. yours is not. a game can not fail until its out... so if 1 million boxes have been sold and the games not even out... that sounds like the opposite of a failure

You clearly know nothing

You clearly know nothing about game development. Games fail during development all the time, but often times before they are revealed. Even so, there's a fairly high predictability rate to these things. This guy knows what he's talking about because he is/was part of the development team.

Actually...

This part is a typo, Warhammer 40K Online has nothing to do with EA/Bioware/Mythic, it is a THQ product that has not been released.

I believe they are talking about Warhammer Online, which was released and failed miserably. As to who made the mistake, EA Louse or Megagames, I have no idea.

oh noes

please dont tell me that the "Knights of the Old Republic MMORPG" theyre talking about isnt The Old Republic that blew everyones mind at E3....im going to cry
