News: Gears Of War 2 Release Date Coded In Splash Screen

A new splash screen added to the official Gears Of War website seems to suggest that gears Of War 2 will be released on November 9, 2008.

If you look closely at the splash screen (available in the screens tab), you can easily figure out a bunch of numbers printed on the dog tags. Those numbers are 033-116-117-126-071. The numbers seems to be truly random, but by comparing them to a standard ascii table the following code is revealed: ESC-N-O-V-9.

So, "Escape on November 9th" it is. At least until we hear anything else from Epic.

This game will be nothing different from the 1st one...you run, you enter a spot, you fight and kill the enemy, you advance to another spot, and you do the same thing over and over again with a terrible storyline. the first game was alright, I mean it only did so well though becuse it was on the Xbox, you dont need a good game to sell on a console, and most games on consoles(MOST) suck anyways so its easy to do better

I don't know about everyone else, I'm a bit of an X360 fanboy (admittedly) but I never saw the big deal with GoW.I thought it was repetitive and the story was s**tty. It got boring pretty fast.I think it was one of the most hyped up exclusives for the 360 so everyone forced themselves to love it.

Anon at 15:26, the solution is simple, don't buy it. The world doesn't revolve around you, d**kwad.Action aside, the story was decent, and the game itself was original in a sense. Hell, I was glad enough they had a co-op mode.

Gears was the most undeserving game for game of the year last year. Duck and cover duck and cover, shoot enemies, repeat. It got old REAL fast and the 2nd one better improve on this or it will fail.
