Last week gave us the trailer for Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U and everyone spent a lot of time cawing over the graphics and suggesting that just like the Wii before it, perhaps it's more to do with the artists that make the games rather than what speed the internal GPU runs at.
But that was a trailer. What you really need to judge a game's ability to produce fun from thin air and it's visual beauty, is real gameplay. Fortunately this week kicks off with a lot of it.
We even get a look at the difference between original versions of the retro-remake tracks, like Rainbow Road from the N64 version and how it translates into the new Wii U version.
