Description
The latest version of Sony's PSP, the PSP 3000, has proved to be a harder nut to crack for homebrew enthusiasts to break until UK-based peripheral maker, Datel, announced that their "Lite Blue Tool" last November.

Lite Blue Tool is a battery attachment solution that allowes users to enter the handheld's service mode, thereby enabling them to downgrade the system's firmware and gain access to all sorts of third-party applications, tools, and emulators that Sony doesn't want running on the PSP.

Unfortunately for PSP 3000 owners, the Lite Blue Tool is no longer an option. Before the tool made it to the market, Datel changed its name to "MAX Power Digital" and its description to indicate that it is no more than a battery replacement for the PSP 3000.

When asked for explanation, Datel revealed that "Due to legal action by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe we [Datel] are currently not able to fulfill orders for the Lite Blue Tool Battery. Any orders received for this product have not been processed and no charges have been made. We will inform customers about availability of this product when this situation has been resolved."

MAX Power Digital will act as a battery replacement when put in a PSP 3000, but it is still able to put a PSP 2000 into service mode.
