Description The largest demographic in the PC gaming audience is females of age 25 and older, a new report by Nielsen media analysis group claimed; but there is a catch, as the report also confirmed that the most played PC game is still Solitaire.
The report revealed that mobile phones' share of the gaming market has been steadily increasing over the last few months, and that Xbox 360 as well as Playstation 3 are the consoles of choice for "hardcore" gamers.
The report also found that Playstation 3 has the oldest average userbase while Wii owners play the least with the fewest average daily play sessions and the lowest percentage of active users. Playstation 3 and Playstation 2 actual play time is still healthy, but it is seeing a downward trend.
Finally, the report found that 12-17 year old males in households earning $75,000 or more are the "most active" gamers.
