Description The Whistler version of Windows, in its various builds, has been circulating on the net for some time now. It was about time Microsoft accepted its existence and formalised the project, which will be known as Windows XP.
The delay was probably a result of Microsofts' need to carefully phrase what the new version will offer. Fears that too much publicity would undermine the current versions of Windows, effecting their sales, had to be considered.
Looking at the Microsoft presentation of Windows XP, the eye can't help but stop on the final sentence Windows XP "will be the most significant update to the Windows interface since Windows 95." So what does that make Windows 98 and ME?
