The Windows cache is a technology to create 'virtual memory'. Beside from your installed physical RAM, Windows can speed up your machine by creating 'virtual memory' on one of your harddrives. This virtual memory will exist in one file on your harddrive - this file is mostly known as 'win386.swp'. The settings for this disc cache can be changed in the System-Settings of Windows, but Windows itself does not give you any hint for the best setting.
