The Hunter: Call of the Wild is the prettiest hunting game to date

The Hunter: Call of the Wild, is the latest release in the Hunter series of games from Avalanche Studios, the same company behind the Just Cause games. Making use of the same engine that powers Just Cause 3, the latest Hunter game looks better than ever, offering a wide, open world to explore, many of the most popular animals to hunt and deeper and more customisable gameplay than ever before.

Learning from mistakes of the past, Avalanche is doing away with its piecemeal, hunting/payment model, where players would have to pay for certain weapons, pay for licensed and subscriptions to even access much of the game - despite it being technically free to play.

With The Hunter: Call of the Wild, players will have one upfront fee and will then be able to hunt whatever they want. Everything in the game will be unlockable with gameplay too, though we wouldn't be surprised if there were a few micro-transactions in there also.

The Hunter is set to go on sale on February 16.
