Kinect 2 Output Photo Leaked

Now that the next gen Xbox SDKs have reached developers hand (supposedly, in secret), the first solid info about that Kinect 2 motion controller has made its way to the internet.

A Twitter user that goes by the handle “DaE,” has leaked a photo of the second generation Kinect controller. The photo is available in the image gallery.

The photo seems to confirm earlier reports that Kinect 2 will have higher resolution sensors that enable it to track individual finger movements, read lips and gauge moods.

According to our hardware experts, Kinect 2 will not be compatible with existing Xbox 360 consoles since its standard USB port cannot handle data rates beyond those of the current Kinect.

The authenticity of the leaked photo was confirmed by The Verge.

Your title gives you away

You mean optimized PC hardware thats much more capable than regular PC hardware with the same specs? You mean locked at the architecture level to abstract the complexity of developing games for many different pieces of hardware? No? Then you don't know much about consoles. Go home kid...

BORK BORK

Hmmm lets see first they tried regular processors, then went on to power processors and now their aiming for arm processors? Sorry no dice restricting console hardware in order to allow games to be developed easily is actually far more intrusive than developing for a lineup of hardware specs. That and you still need a PC to develop a game for an effin console.

craptastic

this tech is now in public sector? must of gotten some neat new gadgets in the lab. Whats next for the private sec, alpha/beta wave decoders?
