The last ever DLC map release for Nintendo's paint slinging, squid swimming third person shooter, Splatoon, is set to arrive today, at 6PM Pacific time. This comes just a week after the last free weapon update for the game, so together they round out the after-release support.

The new map is called Ancho V Games, which is set inside the offices of the developers who made the connecting-screen game, Squid Jump. It features tables, chairs, high walls and various other furniture that needs painting. However its most interesting feature is the inclusion of desk-fans, which when paint is splatted into, can be used to raise and lower certain portions of the map, helping you gain aerial superiority over your opponents, which at the right moment can be the difference between winning and losing.

It can also open up new avenues of attack, creating platforms to speed your teammates' transition around the map, possibly even blocking off the enemy's carefully constructed swim path for their team too, so there's lots of strategic possibilities.

Splatoon has been a surprisingly successful game for Nintendo. Here's hoping they continue its development with sequels in the future, as it's been a long time since it had a new, successful IP and a multiplayer success to boot.
