Microsoft Announces Train Simulator

There is a magic and mystique about trains that is difficult to explain...
It touches people in many different ways. For some it is a simple awe-inspiring respect they feel when they stand near a rail crossing and feel the earth shake as tons of steel rumble by at over 60 mph. For others it is an historical connection, tying them to a place or an era that the railroads helped birth and shape. Still others marvel at the engineering systems of such machines. And finally, many people are drawn to the romance of the rails -- a way of travel that keeps them close to the earth while sending them to far-away places.
Whatever the reason, for nearly 200 years, railroads have captured the hearts and minds of thousands.
Microsoft Train Simulator brings the power and excitement of some of the world's most famous trains to your PC, placing you in the role of engineer or passenger with unprecedented realism, exciting real-world rail challenges, and the tools to recreate almost any railroad experience in the world.

errr, a train sim? ok the concept of travelling miles on luxury trains as a passenger or driver, WITHOUT having to get out of your chair does sound appealing...but, on a playability level - about3/10 !!! :¬p sorry MS you should be working on ironing out the bugs in windows, not playing 'choo choo'!

Well I'm looking forward to this driving simulation, it should take a bit more brain power like the Microsoft flight simulator. If anyone thinks driving/firing a steam locomotive is easy and boring you want to try it in real life. Maintaining boiler pressure and water level takes a lot of skill. If you're looking for a driving game go and play one of the many kids car racing games, if you want something a bit more challenging then try this game.It should make a change from all the mindless shooting games we see at the moment.

It'll be interesting when the game ships... alot of mindless gamers have been posting alot of flames on this game.. but to me it sounds just right. I liked Microsoft Flight Simulator probably the same reason i'll like the train sim... you have to manage a long journey... that sounds kick ass to me.

I hate MS products (this will be another bad $20-50 game in a few weeks it will be on the "get rid of" shelf of frys eletronics ya the $5 one) if you want this use warez a good sit to get you started [url removed] , also [url removed] only click on games and search on side bar, and also only click on the games in the columns and not the links on top (those are fake) but you can click next under the columns, -=+**and for all you a**holes WAREZ IS NOT I SAY NOT HIDING FROM THE US GOVERNMENT!!!!!, the html files cannot be taken down by law (a bill clinton signed in 95) before that they just made a new html file and moved thier site. DONT SAY THEY HIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!**+=-

You know - it's nice to have options for gaming. Considering that MS's new Train Sim from the train community gave the new game rave reviews is great. Not really sure where all of the flaming is coming from. If you don't like trains to buy the game. MS is flexible enough that they can have a core team that can respond to the complexities of the OS as well as concentrate on the gaming community as well....
