Microsoft releases Internet Explorer 5.5

yikes, what's the big deal? it looks and acts the same.

I was getting nearly 4kbps with ie5 on a 44kbps line; now I'm getting nearly 7kbps on same line & h/w. That alone gets it a recommendation from me!!

A few added features but pretty much the same as IE5.0. I'd just get it because it's the same but newer and that's a good thing...

It is close to the same as 5.01 from a user's perspective, even though it is faster due to native frames and has print preview.On the developer side it has better w3c standards support, native frames, and Z index, plus has the Trident3 update.

New version new bugz new exploits......new passwords,new credit card numbers,new Netscape users...'till version 7 only Microsoft employes will be left using it...

First of all IE is and will always be better than Netscape in every way. I bet half of the people here putting down microsoft are running there computers on windows, if u hate them so much got get lynux. Secound of all what does every one have against Bill Gates so hes rich he worked for it no need to be jealous and i think its great that a new IE is coming out if u dont like it go suck yourself!!!!!!!!

Hay Fuzzie Guess what I got 5.5 with Windows Me and umm another thin I also got Windows Meadia player 7 with winows me so umm I dont have to spend hours downloading it :P oh yeah fuzzi a better allternative would also be BeOS cuz its also free and I think it beats the pants off Linux

Its alot better than u'd expect and it comes with 128 bit encription allready in it so u dont have to bother downloading it like in pas ie's but not like many people did ne way plus like some one else said donloads are faster for some reason oh yeah fuzzi why dont u go to firingsquad every now and then

Netscape 6 is a pathetically bloated and slow piece of software. Opera and its annoying Banner Ads SUCK. IE is the superior browser.
