Neon your PC

If you're looking for a way to make your custom computing rig distinctly different, this most certainly is it. There's a growing hot-rod scene among PC enthusiasts. And, like the bigger and smellier kind of hot rod, hot PCs can be tricked up both for go and for show.

Most of the people painting flames down the side of their computer (oh, you may laugh, but it's been done) might not be taking the idea particularly seriously, but that doesn't mean there's not a market out there for things to dress up and/or light up a PC.

If you're afraid of wiring, though, the pcMods kit is not ridiculously expensive, and is about as easy to install as such a thing can get.If you like this sort of thing, then this is indubitably the sort of thing you will like.

Neon your PC

I have a hard drive fan installed on my 80 GB Maxtor. A Slot Fan in the case, and a water cooler on my 1GHZ cpu. [url removed] I've expanded the water cooler tubing to wrap around an ice maker coil that I have installed in the case. This keeps my cpu humming like a bird. Darn if I'm going to slow down for a neon bulb!

Neon your PC

This current crop of neon computers ****ing sucks. PC's are way better than Macs, so why the HELL are we trying to make our blazing fast supercomputers look like ****ing iMacs, for Christ's sake. Come, on people-grow up. If you want neon, buy a black light bulb and stick it up your ass.

Neon your PC

Samhain, Did you actually think I was being serious about putting a 12" subwoofer in your tower?? A neon light and all of that shit is about as ridiculous as saying put hydraulics on your computer. What the hell is everyone thinking............Oh and too also comment on water cooling the processor. A lot that that extra tubing crap for water cooling is not a good idea I don't think. Mainly due to the fact that coldness and heat create humidity. And also forms water on the side of the tubing. Much like as if you got a cold glass of water and let it sit awhile. Water will form on the outside of the glass. Now would if that happened on the tubing?? Man if that water dropped on the motherboard or any other circuitry then say bye bye.

Neon your PC

Some people seriously needs doctors attention man!I can't believe, that they actually wastin' moneyon this shit...on second thought,I should give'm anaccount to put their dough in the bank for me...hmmm...

Neon your PC

Hey KiLLemALL, You can't see the light. Thats what is so stupid about this idea. If you got the light the only 2 options you would have is to have a clear case (which I have never seen). And #2 is to not have a case at all which is also stupid because it totally defeats the purpose of having one to begin with.

Neon your PC

The only problem I see with the idea is the heat generated by the light. It can get really hot in there without the light. And another thing, the people below are all dumbasses. They have no respect for great ideas like this one. They were probally ****ed in there asses by their dads when they were small. Thats why they don't have respect!!!

Neon your PC

Go Diablos I agree with that Kick ass idea they probably were not to know a good idea when they see one i think there dad's also shot too much cum in there eyes to see it.

Neon your PC

Um....Diablos, i was just wondering, are u stupid?thats a bulb filled with NEON gas. Neon is inertand the amount of heat generated by that bulb is insignificantcompared to the heat given off by the Processor of todays videocards.Learn something about computers. Electronics, and thermodynamics.shit for brains

Neon your PC

Uh. I think the light thingy is "neato"Whats wrong with makeing your computer look neat? I painted mine silver and put a blue raceing stripe down the middle. Sure my computer may be slow as hell in a hardware sense, but it sure looks fast! I dont see why we cant all just get along. Does it matter if somone wants a neon lite or not? Please, No more fighting!

Neon your PC

Yo, watsup lot.... My lowrider 66 impala has that stuff under the carman, I get alot of looks, I should probably do that to my computer too, eh essay..?I've even got a stobie in my engine compartment to make my 427 look pretty hot... youknowhatI'msayin?

Neon your PC

Alright, read the last sentece of the description, and tell me what it's supposed to mean : "If you like this sort of thing, then this is indubitably the sort of thing you will like." It just killed me after reading such a crapy article

Neon your PC

I have just two things to say.First, its crap.Second, if you really want to spend 29.99 on something buy a year subscription to PLAYBOY, trust me youll get more uses out of the mags. Plus you wont be embarrased to show your friends your collection, rather than the collection of crap hanging on your computer.

Neon your PC

My Lord, this must be THE stupidest shit I've ever seen! Putting in that piece of shit into yer comp will only create MORE HEAT and that's VERY BAD for your comp. With 29.99 you could spend it on buying 1 decent fan and a overclocking kit to boost yer FPS on any 3d Game. So uhm... 29.99 spend on some stupid 'cool' looking light or 10+ FPS on ANY 3D game? (with the fans you can polong the life of your computer and prevent crashes). Well, sadly I KNOW there will be people out there stupid enough to buy the dumb light. Aye.. this world is full of idiots. :p

Neon your PC

This is why none of the "cool" looking gadgets from Japan don't make it to the US. Too many ignorant people think they know everything. FOOL! When properly encased, the heat from a neon bulb is negligible. Neon, by the way is not the way to go. Ultra Violet lights have an incredible effect on most PCB's. It shows you how translucent PCB's really are. It's wild! Hell, you might start seeing clear cases soon with this shit inside. The one I built for my machine had a 12V to 120V power inverter so I could plug it into one of the fan power adaptors on my motherboard. With this, I can control the intensity of the bulbs via the motherboard's fan control/monitor software. If only I had a clear plastic case... I bet they sell 'em in Japan.

Neon your PC

Yeah! Finally SOMETHING, what will differ Your PC from the grey average! :) I've started tweaking with standard cases, and (since my hands are NOT that skilled) it doesn't look too well. BUT - my case IS different from the dull standart.

Neon your PC

This is undoubtibly the stupidest thing I have ever heard. First of all how is it good to make your system hotter?? The hotter your CPU the slower it goes. Second of all, unless your case is clear who the hell is going to see a neon light?? Oh yeah, lets leave the case off so everyone can see a blue light bulb. Even a clear case would look ugly. Why do you think they are grey?? So noone can see all the wires and gadgets. Geez how retarded........A PC is made for games and regular technology. Its not made to be fixed up like a hot rod.

Neon your PC

This is friggin' awesome. You guys who think this is "ugly" or "dumb" probably don't know what a computer is. You've probably also got the claassic beige case, right? This doesn't make your system hotter if you've got it cooled RIGHT. My system doesn't get more than 36*C with this light. It might be completely pointless, but when your friends come over to check out your mofo, you want it to look good. So, I say, if you've got the money and you want a completely pointless addition to your computer, WHY NOT?

Neon your PC

First of all, My computer is top of the notch. With a slot A 900 Mgtz system the thing us big gamers worry about is heat. I don't care how little the heat is. If it is even a little I don't want it anywheres near my computer. You'll be surprised how much faster a computer can run if it is cool. My motherboard also tells me exactly what temperature my case is inside and also the temperature of my CPU. I can also see how many RPM's my dual fans are running. So that may tell you how much I worry about heat. When a friends comes over to my house and I wanna impress him. Then I will go on lan and show him just how fast my computers RUNS. Not By a neon light bulb. Even with my mid tower case I would'nt have enough room in there anyway for a neon light. So that tells me that either you need a full tower case or you need to get rid of some shit in your tower. Which would be ridiculous.

Neon your PC

I agree with OASIS! Why put a neon light in the case of one of the hottest things in your room. Think about it. Spend all that money buying the freak'n thing and then one little ( big ) light bulb to burn it up. This is a rediculous idea. Plus, ( not that there isn't one ) I've never seen a clear case and if there was why would you care what it looked like. STUPID STUPID STUPID

Neon your PC

This is by far the weirdest article/thread I have ever read in my life. We can argue about heat, performance, etc. until the cows come home, but ultimately, only one thing matters. Anyone who puts fancy lights and junk on their computer has either been dropped on their head too many times or has a serious drug problem. Either way, if you have lights, etc., there are places that can help you. Look in the yellow pages under "Counselling" trust me....Thanks.......A computer is made for productivity and entertainment. Not fancy blinking lights....If you want fancy blinking lights go outside at night and walk around....You'll see plenty and it will save you lots of money.......

Neon your PC

**** you Oasis.Get a ****ing life you ****ing wanker. Lol, people like you that brag about there computer being better have some serious personality problems. Try going outside and seeing the sun, it'll clear up that nast lil' acne problem of yours.

Neon your PC

First off... Lights are excessive i suppose... though ultra violet light and a clear case would look nice... i run 5, 4" fans to keep my system cool, i have my case custom cut to accomadate such an upgrade, and i also have my case painted some whack ass red and black scheme... it looks cool, anyone thats ever seen my system says... whoa thats your computer? so lights... not unless they are donated... fans A MUST! and painted system... if you get bored why the hell not?[url removed] see my newest case thereas for the rest of you... in Zhin's words "Aye.. this world is full of idiots. :p "

Neon your PC

LMAO, All of a sudden I feel as if I am in kindergarden again. With comments about me like that one below its a wonder how someone that immature even knows how to turn there computer on let alone be able to post a comment on a message board. My 7 year old neice acts older than the person that posted that posting. By the way I was not bragging about my system. First of all there are tons of faster systems most definitly. The fastest CPU out there is 1100 MGTZ. I was simply stating out warm my case can get. Usually the more the power the warmer a case may get. I do have my freedom of speech so I can say whatever I want. If you have a problem with it then I could care less. Anyhow back on the subject I still think a neon light is a stupid addition to a computer. Now I can see painting your case. As a matter of fact I have considered it. So yes fixing up your computer is nice. But I just don't think a neon light is the way to go. Of course some people do which is fine cuz like I said they have there opinion too.

Neon your PC

First off... who cares what other people put on their PC's in the first place? I had an old system that was COVERED in stickers... if there was a free spot open, it got a sticker... everything from a Cartman sticker to a "For vaginal use only" medicine bottle sticker. Do you think I cared what other people thought? Nope.. I did it for myself. If your worried about heat buildup in your case though... get a little flex tubing (3" diameter), run it from an air conditioner straight into the intake fan (or one of them if ya got more) and you'll never have to worry about overheating again. And let me ask you... how cool would that look to a complete stranger... "My shit's so fast I gotta cool it externally!". If they have one of those lights in green, I might consider it... like the review said... kinda Roswell-looking. Anyway, the point is... who cares what other people think... do what you think is cool, because, that's all that matters. I walked around for two years with a double mohawk in the 80's... a lot of people didn't think it was cool... I did though, and that was all that mattered to me.

Neon your PC

Now ppl lets paint our computers red so they go fasterlofloh and thats why windows crashes all the time because its blue. u want me to show u that blue crashed more go to run and type concon it's so cool it tells how to get a neon light for free.

Neon your PC

****head's Little comment about running concon . Do not run it. It will crash You Computer... you can run it if you like that sorta thing. It gives you a windows fatal Error Message and you have to restart Your Computer.
