The New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Game Looks Badass

TMNT

Considering Activision is putting this game out, it's a movie tie-in AND that movie is being directed by Michael Bay, I'm surprised to say, that I think the footage of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game looks really good.

It combines a Batman: Arkham City like combat system, with some pretty good visuals and a different take on the turtles than we've seen before. Combos abound and there are some very turtle specific moves that see the green chaps spinning on their shells and ducking heads like there's no tomorrow.

Of course this new combat trailer only focuses on the goofier of the foursome, Michelangelo, so we're likely to see other trailers looking at the other turtles soon enough.

Perhaps the best part of a turtles experience though is the cooperative gameplay - hi5 to all my Turtles in Time gamers - and that will be fully implemented with this title. Two player local and four player online will be possible, so expect some frantic multiplayer action too.

There's definitely a grittier tone with this game, than anyone who watched the 80s/90s cartoon will be used to, but that's because the game is quite clearly marketed not only to children now, but adults that grew up with the turtles. The combat is quite brutal and while there doesn't look to be much blood, there's some serious concussions to be had if you're a member of the Foot Clan.

TMNT Out of the Shadows is set for release this summer on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
