Nintendo Wants To Make Wii U – 3DS Platfrom Agnostic Games

Nintendo's top game designer Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that the company is looking into ways to make cross-platform games that can be played on 3DS and Wii U.

First off, the company has to bring both systems' development teams together though.

"What I can say is, certainly, within Nintendo the fact that our development environment for our home console is different from the development environment for our portable system is certainly an area of stress or challenge for the development teams," explained Miyamoto.

"So as we move forward, we're going to look at what we can do to unify the two development environments."

This undertaking is still in the interesting idea phase, so don't expect to see platform-agnostic Nintendo games any time soon.

Thats what they should have

Thats what they should have done from the get go of the wii and wiiu. Instead of giving people a large screen within a controller. Why make a cross platform system with a screen on a controller when you already have the 3ds in the market and mostly every nintendo fan has one, or every child thats got it from their parents instead of a home room console? The latter can buy the console and the firsts already have it, this way, you can reduce the price and still have the same potential on the wiiu.
